Take your headset off when you go inside the restaurant or the throne. We don’t need to hear you explaining to the wife why you only brought home $400 this week.

Hard work wins. You get out of it what you put in to it. Not happy ? Look in the mirror and ask what can I do to make things better ? Your life is your problem, no one elses. No one owes you a living. Be proactive. Happen to life , dont let life happen to you. If you dont have a plan in life , you will become part of someone elses.

    If you have a family....

MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE SAME PAGE. I can’t stress this enough. Know what will and won’t fly with you, and your spouse. Individually and as a unit. OVER communicate with them. Be ready to apologize/ accept apologies when one of you is being a little b**ch. Also, you live seperate lives the majority of the time but that doesn’t mean you can’t still be apart of one another’s. It all takes work, and to me that’s the most important tip I can think of.

When some "know-it-all" driver has some smart remark about whichever company you work for and tries to recruit you, tell him, "thanks for the offer, but I can't afford the play cut."

    Ignore that stuff.

The only thing you need to do is to learn how to drive the truck right and that only happens when you don't worry about a lot that is posted and drive the truck.

The guy who taught me otr driving said "any idiot can drive a truck but it is the driver who knows what to do when something happens and this only comes from putting miles behind you".

You're going to need a very supportive family on the homefront and it will be difficult early on but you'll need to find a balance between home and work.
