Is it realistic to think I could be an OTR driver and not do any heavy lifting?
    Thanks for any responses.
    Be safe out there

Yes, go with a company that's "driver no-touch" freight.

Some drivers these days barely leave their trucks (even to use the washroom). You'll be fine.

A bad back will give you a bad time even just sitting in the driver seat all day every day... Especially if you run Michigan roads much.... I don't think they know how to fix a pothole in that state.

That's true in my experience so far. Maintaining good posture over long hours of driving is harder than it sounds. I'm no expert of physiology but if it were me, I'd try to sit up straight with feet flat on the ground as much as possible. And to be sitting up straight, a few of your back muscles need to be engaged, supporting your lower back from slouching.

If I go long periods without supporting my lower back from sagging, I get pinched nerves.

Just need to make sure you have a good seat with good lumbar support.

I've had back issues over the years, and nothing beats good lumbar support and regular trips to The Joint Chiropractic.

    Zappafan Thanks this.

On another website I frequent it's called a FBW, Food and Beverage Warning. Many a keyboard and screen have been violated by posts that just "get to you".

    :)
