I don't know why everybody is being around the bush. Just say it. It's because we won the big one and you can suck it.

I highly doubt that will happen.

I'm sure it's out there, but I have seen no negative publicity.

Those were the words he used in a article.
Do not forget MB is a world player......and it is safe to say the rest off the world doesn't follow the USA in most off it's present day policies.

Or MB has realised, just like Volvo, that there is little to no profit in gliders.

    Time will tell.

No profit? What in the world would give you that impression? They don't sell the truck at cost.

Let's face it, the whole glider industry came into existence because of loopholes in the legislation, and congress should have closed those loopholes.

The EPA did close the loopholes, but the present leader of the EPA is against protecting the environment (and the EPA itself), so he wants to open the loopholes again.

It's safe to say that the whole trucking industry is against gliders, with the exception of the O/O groups and the glider industry itself.

Of course selling gliders harms the reputation of the truck manufacturing industry. On the one hand they want to show they produce fuel efficient clean trucks, but on the other hand those gliders make sure that new, but very dirty trucks get on the road. That is difficult to combine, and it harms their reputation of being a responsible company.

So perhaps the manufacturers should join up, and decide to stop manufacturing gliders.

Well all those global players still sell "dirty"trucks in markets with less stringent regulations.
And as far as fuel efficiency goes an old truck Euro3/4 well tuned without exhaust restrictions or retarded timing is more fuel efficient than the new stuff.

Don't underestimate hate. Nor love for that matter , as in how much Europeans love to rile the Americans up about having stone age trucks and being ignorant enough to love them. As I have said before the your truck is ugly vs your truck is dumb can get as emotive as talking about a guys woman. I love and think there is a place for all of them but it sure is fun watching this. Then now and then some interesting and useful info emerges to make it more than a mud slinging contest.

    Those gliders are EURO 0.
You cannot import then in 90% off the poorest nations off the world.
