Building A C15 Cat Using C18 Crank And Rods

    As the title says can it be done using the c15 liner and pistons? I'm curious

    If they use the same crankshaft & rods there is no problem just check the model numbers.

    No, you need crankshaft, pistons, and liners.

    Not only does the 18 have a longer stroke the bore is larger. The C15 acert and C18 also use the same connecting rod so the pin height is different in the piston between the two engines as well.

    Well I can tell you there was a C15 acert based engine that put fown 1183hp to the tires at Antrim’s this past weekend in the exact same form that the guy works it in.

    His son ran a C18 with same exact injectors and programming and did 1100, so you tell me what you really need the 18L for?

    I don't need an 18 liter probably will never need one was curious to see if it could be done

    It actually would be cheaper in the long run to buy a complete industrial 18, just getting the crank from a cat dealer will set you back around $9600.
