People who are entering the freeway or their lane is ending must yield to oncoming traffic.
You are the oncoming traffic so the other driver must yield to you either speed up or slow down and get behind

I agree with the above statement. Don’t say you saw him. Legally you are ok. If you worked for my company though you’d still be on camera and they would see that you should’ve avoided it and then...buhbye, fired.
You are supposed to let every swinging dick out there get in if it avoids a wreck. Keep 5-8 seconds of space in front of you, etc. you are supposed to never road rage or even act discourteous. GWB is one of the higher risk areas for accidents in the USA depending on the mood of the city around you on it and after it.
One time they had a bad wreck just past upper level in the caverns we were kicked off 95 and had to do stop and go about 20 blocks back onto 95 at some point. The people came out asking for smoke, change etc. All sorts of crazies out of the wood work that night.
I spent pretty much my life trucking across there and consider myself very lucky. I won't be back.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
Piece of advise. Do NOT talk to either insurance company unless directed to by your safety department.

There is one tiny tidbit I will share with everyone. When there is a sufficient property damage done by myself to require the other vehicle to be towed, the tow man always asks me in person how do I want this billed? I tell the tow man you take it up with the company's insurance always do this in front of Police Officer as a witness. Then shut up.
The tow man will be more than happy to remove the destroyed or totaled vehicle from the scene and start his own billing and storage fees against your company's insurance. The reason for this is sometimes if you are being nice and you paid the bill yourself in cash in some states that's a hard admission of liability.
There are things you can do as a driver. But after a accident? With damage? Insurance and big stuff? That's not driver talking. That's Owners and Officers of company type talking. YOU would count yourself lucky to still remain employed.
When I hit my third and last vehicle near St Louis in 2001, JBH sent what I call a enforcer. This suit had the power and CDL to take my load on to Iowa (Which happened to be beer...) and the power to fire me depending on results of his very very very tough inspection of me, of the damage and the other party interview. There I sit with my big mouth shut saying yes no to his questions if any while he went over everything at the scene. Interviewed the damaged party (Who happened to have a 3000 dollar computer behind where I made contact on his 600 dollar POS pickup...) went over my logs etc.
Then he went away telling me I will be hauled into yard within a week for a post accident interview and have a good day. I tell you what I also think. He probably cut a check to that man on the spot that night. I would believe it if that was what happened. On my end I was already talking with wife about getting out of OTR anyway. I told JBH not to put me into a COE but here we are again. yeesh.Odin's Rabid Dog Thanks this. -
Agreed @x1Heavy . I just remember a few years ago when that lady clipped my steps her insurance company kept calling me wanting a statement. I let it go to voicemail. Eventually I called safety and the guy told me no don't talk to any insurance company, even ours unless I tell you to. Told me to have them call him. But they did try directly to get a statement from me.
