    Nebraska has some jobs like that for 18 yr. old cdl-A drivers. Maybe there's something like these near you in Kansas. Maybe these companies have a branch near you.
    In Nebraska the company names are :
    84 lumber
    ~~~~~~~~
    H&S Enterprises, Inc. in Lincoln
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Midwest Farmers Coop - www.midwestfarmers.coop - Elmwood,NE
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    These companies do farm chemicals & grain & building supplies.
    Check your ag, landscaping supply, etc. companies. Some of them, you might get a CDL, maybe they'll train you on a straight truck, have you work your way up to a tractor-trailer, then eventually send you out on longer trips, but local/intrastate companies which will let you out the gate without any experience are a bit uncommon.
    You may Have to enter this biz thru the "back door" as in dock work or anything pertaining to trucking support. Furnniture moving also comes to mind.
    Best advice: Stay in school and get a degree; whatever you major in is not as important as the degree itself.
    Join the military and give em' their couple of years; in return, they can fund a big part of your college tuition so then you can graduate debt free.
    A few years in the military with a college degree as payment for your service is certainly much better than the lifetime of low wage servitude that you will experience with no degree at all.
    The times of working your way to the top from humble beginnings with no degree are over; arm yourself with all the ammo that you can get, especially that diploma.
    The pay in trucking stinks, and it's just going to get worse.
    Does the military train you for CDL? I assume so, since they transport on lowboys. Might be an option. The Money sounds great until you divide that check by 70 hours and factor overtime. Then you realize how little you make for what you know. But I get it. At 19 that would have been a fortune to me, and you have the energy to do it.
