The Russians know how to write code, or they know another Russian that can. I think they already have written, or soon will, write their own elog software.

Who is going to question it? Yeah, looks ok to me! carry on driver.

Unless you end up in court and people start digging... But then you would be in the same boat as using crayons anyway.

    Same here!
I would not work for company that does not pay for all waiting time. Those companies employee “volunteers” who complain about the assignment they have selected

No. Lol. Just at a spot in my life where I don’t have to work as much as I used to.

That's interesting. Ive taken pipe out of Houston many a time. No complaining here. So there is a little bit of waiting etc. big deal just rest in the berth until it's your turn.

    Doesn’t stop your 14 unless it’s 8 hours.

I understand. When it's gone it's gone. New appt please.

See, in the old days of paper all dispatch wants to hear is loaded and rolling.

Today if that ELD was in my truck and it ran out 14 hours sitting in Houston? Oh well, pop a movie in, break out the dutch oven and dinner plate and settle. Time to go to bed before loaded and rolling.

Dispatch will just have to wait a while.

Indeed. I will take your post to have a touch of feeling behind it that is sarcastic or some other form. Which I would agree with. The Internet does not convey to me very well feelings from words.

I am not trying to be funny. I enjoyed the freedoms and liberty that the paper logs have given me and dispatcher. That's profitable. But when the ball and chain ELD says my time is up clock out go to bed and don't come out for 8 hours or whatever... that's not acceptable to me. But I would have to do just that.

That's not going to be profitable.

Don't misunderstand me, I spent 5 months pipe houston to jaxfla and chain/cable right back to houston one winter back in the 90's more work than I could shake a stick at. Loved it all. (They can keep the rain though... it's a bit much) made some money too. That ELD would seriously cause me to lose at best a minimum of two trips every 10 days. I forget exactly what the trips paid back then but that's like several hundred dollars gone because of that ELD saying stop and go to bed.

Its not for me. I'll stick with medicines. Drop. Hook and be somewhere overnight and gone.
