No , l wouldn’t be allowed..... the corporations make sure there is no competition for them..... but they use cheap countries to produce goods. However I cannot buy and import myself.....

I looked at a Honda Civic (Canadian model) Honda said they would void the warranty on a brand new car if I brought it to the US........F the corporations.

Now back to how much someone’s attitude sucks.........:)

The whole of Europe is connected to one grid, so countries can halp each other out. In fact there is an electricity exchange where energy companies buy electricity every day. Long distribution lines indeed cause losses, that's why there is a lot of research going on in this area of expertise. It seems using DC instead of AC reduces the losses, don't know how they want to implement that.

That's why many wind farms here are being build in the North Sea. The wind is also stronger there. Solar panels are better in that respect. Cover the roofs of houses, barns etc. with solar panels, and you can produce more than enough energy for your own needs. Farmers also take small parts of their fields and install solar panels.
What we see over here is home owners in one or more streets installing sea containers with batteries. During the day the batteries are charged, during the evening and the night the batteries can supply the house with electricity.

In Germany they just found that it is possible to increase the capacity of a Lithium ion battery ten fold by using silicon instead of carbon as electrode. Charging is also much faster.

But you are very right with your concerns about having a stable electricity grid. That is the main challenge with alternative energy sources.

I'm sure California will make mistakes, but they are going in the right direction. It is sunny and windy, so it can produce enormous amounts of renewable energy. They can even supply other states if the grid has sufficient capacity. Stating that 'beautiful clean coal' is the future, as some do, is ludicrous.

only way if you ask me....

but with proper brainwashing , tree huggers, users of marijuana, liberals, and other people who have no clue about energetics and economy.....jump in front of trains which transport waste...and make decision for all of us.
ecology is largest fraud ever....in name of ecology they offer us "clean" renewable energy sources which are often not that clean but are far more expensive. no one of those ever mentioned how clean is making solar panels

The problem with today's nuclear power plants is that they are unstable by design. If something goes wrong in controlling them, they may explode. We saw that in Chernobyl and Japan, and there have been several instances where such events were narrowly avoided. The radioactive waste of these reactors stays dangerous for thousands of years, not a good idea.

For some reason that I can't understand, they chose the wrong type of nuclear reactor in the past. Instead of a uranium base design, they should have chosen a thorium based design. These reactors are stable, and produce far less dangerous waste. It seems they are going to look at those now, but it can take decades before these reactors will be producing electricity.

No, we are making decisions for thousands of generations in the future.
Solar panels can be produced clean, just as any other industrial product. It's just a matter of regulations.

About a decade ago the EU ruled that solder in electronic devices could not contain lead any more. The producers in the far east couldn't do anything else than comply, otherwise their products could not enter the EU. It meant using different solder with a higher melting point. The US was astonished when they realized that Europe had changed the way electronics had to be build, for the whole world.

Solar panels are now so cheap, that their energy is cheaper than any kind of energy from fossil fuels. A company that is responsible for the electricity grid has asked companies to stop building fields with solar panels near by where I live, because their lines can't transport so much power in that area.
