Went to elogs years ago. Wouldnt want to draw silly little lines on silly little peices of paper for any reason. Bought the elogs and all the computer junk to go with , no big deal. If 11 hours of driving in a 14 hour day in a 70 hour work week isnt enough time for you please find an industry you can be successful in.

Western flyer and bryan21384 Thank this.

They dont work perfectly ,, but they work a whole lot better than pen and paper. Pen and paper does not work at all , you have to work them yourself. They dont work on there own.

All I hear is "I love my master (government monitoring your every move)" That is ruining a once great
Industry .its not about drawing lines on paper ,or HOS it's about the government monitoring your every move, and some little power hungry ,over zealous DOT inspector
And federal inspector going up your ### with a microscope seeing if you've been a good boy .F&ck that.
It's disturbing When I hear people defend Electronic Logs that
Track you by GPS , make you run when your tired because your racing the clock ,and make you lay over when your 30 minutes from home so you won't get a "violation " by some DOT clown who wants your logs emailed to him 6 days later .
Go ahead say the standard "Good boy" saying ,"you should plan better" ,"adapt or get out of the industry","its the law"
All I hear is someone who doesn't have a clue to what made this country great ......Freedom .
All most ALL bad truck accidents ,and totally stupid incidents involving big trucks I have seen in 31 years of driving have been by big fleet drivers,Prime,Schneider,JBHunt,Swift,Fed Ex etc . All the players pushing for the ELD mandate ,to have a so called
Level playing field.Nothing to do with safety, but sold to the politicians and public under the guise of safety.
As far as you happily going to elogs years ago. I highly doubt you did so voluntarily ,I'm sure you were "told " to do so by whatever company your leased onto,or drive for ,you sound more like a company driver trying to sound like an owner operator . That's not a move any
one makes on there own so they don't have to "draw silly little lines" Your smug demeanor
Just shows through as a misery loves company attitude that if you have to be on them, your
    Glad everyone else has to.

IMO, anyone upset over elogs I assume is mad that they can't run 4500 miles a week no more for cheap.

Sorry "Boy" ,I don't work by the mile and never have to run more than 2500 miles a week ,grossing $1500 a day or more, And usually home every night.I have never worked cheap, and own enough real estate ,and have other sources of income I can leave trucking and be fine.
Trucking and real estate has been very good to me. It's just people praising elogs and how wonderful they are gets a little disturbing.
Granted they have been a positive thing as far as rates are concerned, but it's also the good economy, and driver shortage that is effecting rates along with other factors.

Couldn't have said it better myself!!
Also not sure the ELD's helped the rates all that much.? Personally I began to notice rates rising Dec. 2016- Jan 2017. I believe businesses started to feel free to ramp up production because they saw the economy tuning in a better direction..
