Just read the second link posted above. Don't focus on the judgment. Focus on what the jury was made aware of by the prosecution.

Driving in foul weather comes with the job... Some of us gout our license and learned to drive on ice from the beginning. Qute a few of us wouldn't have a problem driving on ice.

But some Texan that dosn't have the same experience decides to take the kids for a trip and fails it's our problem for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

They should. But I can think of far better reasons than this one. This one crosses boundary that will open up serious shafting for everyone.

Nothing good can come from this case. It's sets a bad precedent. Driver 2 going down the road minding his own biz. Driver 1 going in the opposite direction loses control, crosses the median and strikes veh 2. Veh 1 is at fault...period. Maybe their point is the driver of veh 2 was a new driver amd shouldnt have been driving in icey conditions. Point is it makes no DIFFERENCE! Driver 2 did nothing wrong and the accident was evidently unavoidable..

Does the USA cdl handbook tell you to park it in freezing rain?? I park if roads turn to skating rinks but curious if it’s mandatory as stated in lawsuit

Yes. It does set a very dangerous precedent. Which is my point. Future trials will use the same arguments. So the mega puppy mills will have to do away with a lot of the garbage practices they're currently using to effectively keep driver payroll as low as possible.

They will now have to focus on quality rather than quantity.

That Werner wouldn't let the driver take another route?

I would agree if it resulted in the Werner driver causing the accident.

You know, stop feeling bad for poor Werner. They are probably so loaded they are self-insured. If not, then my sincere condolences to Werner's insurance carrier, who undoubtedly must pay for this verdict. But they're probably going to appeal it since they have more money than God to litigate stupid things. Those people deserve the money

I don't think it will be limited to the Megas. It may start out that way, but it could turn real ugly real fast for everyone.
