Every once in awhile I’ll see an old trailer from Tucker, Shippers Dispatch, Thurston, and others sitting at an old building or even a farm. Back in the early 70s those trucks were moving a lot of freight.

The good old days was when we could play outside without fear.
The good old days is when we could play cops and robbers, pointing our fingers as guns... and it was all in fun.
    The good old days ...

The good old days when kids could go to school without the fear that they would be shot by some... what is the word?

Is Hey Iran 'the good ole days'?
    ??

The good ole days of union teamsters owner op steel haulers. My dad was one back in the 90s hauling from Binghamton ny to NYC. Union was so corrupt by the mafia it went under govt trusteeship by the time my dad left

Mom worked for Transcon/Pie. Dad for United Buckingham/Ringsby/Sturm/Consolidated Freightways. Different times then, after deregulation it all went down.

I drove tanker for them. Matlack bought the tankers and closed our terminal.

Was leased to PIE,CF,TIME DC,Inway special commodities divisions, back in the days.My old Consolidated Freightways door sign in my avatar. Almost every teamster general commodities company had union owner operators. You get with a good operation, learn it,good agents, you could make a ton of money, own your own truck and trailer, enjoy great benefits. Deregulation eventually murdered it. Spent 42 years as a one truck, one trailer owner operator, now happily and comfortably retired. Great memories, wouldn't trade them for a million bucks. Just different times back then, you would have to have lived through it,to really understand. Two things I miss, are my truck, and the Pacific Northwest.
