70 MPH trucks, the recruiter was upfront with me and actually gave me a couple different Driver's cell phone numbers to contact and talk to them. he said "Look I could give you my sales pitch on why we are the better company, but instead why don't you call a couple drivers and ask them your self why they came to Titan and what they think" Never had a recruiter do that. Actually talked to MY Trainer with out even knowing it. School is only $2500 is 4 weeks, however every morning when you walk into class you actually are getting paid.. it comes out to about $300/week. I know lots of places say that...NOT TRUE, MOST places you have to go through classroom time and then get on a truck with a trainer and usually the 2nd or 3rd week with your trainer before you see a pay check, which means 6 weeks with out a pay check. Here you start school on Monday and the following week you get a check, and get one every week after. When you graduate school BEFORE you ever meet with the trainer you are fully licensed with your cdl. You don't make as much as some other places as a "student" only 18 cpm but that's all miles, and YOU are the only one driving, so it's not team driving. After 8 weeks you are dismissed from your trainer and issued your Frieghtliner Cascadia. The other plus side is yes they are 4 1/2 hours from the house, but they have a terminal/drop yard in Louisville Ky and I have family that live there, so could take home time there or they have a terminal drop yard in West Chester Ohio which is about 30 mins from the house.

    18 cents a mile!?!

    WTF... I'm #DEAD!

    Prime...

3 weeks out with trainer to practice for CDL--truck runs solo... $200 food stipend paid back at $25/week once second phase begins.

2nd Phase: 4 months team driving... $700/week guarantee--trainer may kick in additional if s/he chooses in appreciation for exceptionally well run weeks and most usually do.

Upgrade to your own brand new truck... 43 cents/mile (brand new driver with no experience outside of training) plus 5 cents/mile bonus if choosing to drive single sleeper plus fuel mileage bonus between 1.7 cents/mile (7.75 avg mpg) and 8.2 cents/mile (10.75 avg mpg). 8 avg mpg is the minimum contracted goal for 2.4 cents/mile. Most drivers make 5 - 7 cents/mile (9 - 10 avg mpg).

So straight out of training at Prime in a brand new truck at...

    .43 + .05 + .05 = .53/mile for an average of 2500 miles/wk = $1,325 versus your...

18 cents per mile for maybe 3000 miles because you're driving 70 mph? That's $540/week!

Get ALL of the **** out of here with that nonsense! Give me a slow *** Prime truck any day of the week!

    SMH.

SN: The only time a Prime truck is "dangerous" at its slow speeds is when they are out of the "granny" lane. Most of them stay over there for this reason, but when you see them outside of that lane it is most likely because they were letting someone on and the *** wouldn't let them back in.

Who is "we"? You have a mouse in your pocket?

Give me a rookie with a good head on their shoulder (like firemedic seems to be), than some know it all experienced driver who has seen and done everything. I've seen those experienced drivers..hammer down in the far left lane, inches off some hapless 4-wheeler's bumper, 98 ounce mug of liquid diabetes in one hand, other hand on their CB mic #####ing about dangerous drivers.

I suppose every truck in the ditch rubber side up got there at the hands of a rookie... /rolleyes

Because the only way you can get a speeding ticket is in city limits, or on a mountain downgrade. Be careful on a big down grade though. I was in a 62mph truck once but by the time I got to the bottom the the big grade on i68 in Maryland I was at 106.

Every driver has had to Achieve there CDL and gain experience that’s what I was getting at I’m sick of hearing this Rookie ######## or as it’s called in Ireland wet behind the ears, nothing worse than drivers who have been driving decades taking the piss out of Newly graduated drivers .
