What was the bigger crime in the eyes of the government? The drug smuggling or not paying the taxes on it?

I thought it was Spain and the Spaniards that raped what is now Mexico.
I served with lots of Mexicans in the US Navy and they all said they are Spaniards by blood. I didn't really care; for me it was, "OK, sounds good to me."
Some crossed the border to the USA and joined the military and many were born & raised in Texas, but they all said they are Spanish.
Many Canadians did the same, crossed the border and joined the military. Lots of them had female first names, such as, Faye, Bettye, etc. Probably not female names in Canada, but in the USA they're female names.
All those Canadians and "Spanish" guys that did that were outstanding sailors and troopers; have to give them credit for that.Last edited: May 25, 2018

You know, I was going to let this go and not turn it into a political diatribe, but it's just not in my nature.
1. Mexicans are still crossing the border by the thousands daily. On average the border patrol catches 840 every day. Now imagine how many they don't catch.
2. Yes California did once belong to Mexico but it was just bit more than a few decades ago (like 17 decades), and they also claimed Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah. They won their independence from Spain in 1821 and owned California for a whopping 21 years. We went to war over land disputes in Texas, and we kicked Mexico's butt. They surrendered after our troops marched into Mexico City. You may want to look up something called the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which was signed between the governments of the US and Mexico on February 2, 1848. Now we could have just kept Mexico too, but that's not what we were there for. We wanted the states we now have and that was the end of it. Mexicans love to whine about California is rightfully their land. They should be mad at their own government for giving it up, not us for taking it.
3. Spanish is a white man's language? Not even close, because the Spanish aren't white Europeans. They were the original melting pot of Europe. They are Latin as in Roman, Greek, Turkish, north African and a whole bunch of other ancestors that conquered that land and were driven out over the centuries.
4. Spain absolutely raped and pillaged Mexico and much of central and south America. But what they did paled by comparison to what the ancient people of those places were doing to each other before the Spanish arrived. The Mayan, Aztec, Mixtec, Olmec and dozens of others. All were raping, pillaging each other and taking slaves. Those really cool pyramids they have down there were used to cut the heart out of people and then decapitating the body and rolling it down the pyramid. Face it, the people of the new world were living in the stone age before Europeans arrived. What they did wasn't pretty, but it's done. Save your marginalizing racist BS for somebody who gives a crap. Mexico is a Sh**hole because of corruption plain and simple. Many Spanish stayed in Mexico after they won independence and they have been the ruling class there ever since. They marginalize their own people and anybody who has ever spent time in Mexico can see there is a class system in place. The tall lighter skinned descendants of the Spanish are in charge, and the ancestors of the native population are the laborers and working class. Just turn on a Mexican TV station to see who the idolize and who their entertainers are.
5. Yep, the US has a drug problem. A wall and stronger border security will help that problem a lot. If there was less corruption in Mexico and the working class made more money, they would have a huge drug problem down there as well. As it stands, their drug problem is the cartels being in control of the country rather than the government. Not a good position to be in.
As far as the rest of your Marxist diatribe is concerned, I simply don't care enough to comment on it comrade.All4Safety, jraulpilot1998 and x1Heavy Thank this. -

I don’t know what to think of all the cities and states suing opioid manufacturers for getting people hooked on their product.
.
And with fentanol killing a lot of drug users... is that really a bad thing? But then the drug makers marketed their product to our weakest citizens...
.
I’m glad I’m me and not a druggyx1Heavy Thanks this. -
No wonder you truckers in USA are under such scrutiny. What a bunch of sketchy characters
