Local company I worked for didn’t pay an axle ticket like they said they would. I just got a notice that I had a denial of renewal and a warrant for failing to pay and another for failing to appear. It’s not a suspended license, it’s a denial of renewal. You can’t update your medical card, renew, or add endorsements. You are t suspended though. I just got a clean level 1 in South Dakota, where they told me I had a warrant and to get it taken care of. 604 dollar fine.
Anyway, they don’t suspend you for failing to pay a ticket there. They deny renewal. It’s like a hold. Google texas cdl eligibility and go to dps website and see if it’s eligible or not. If it’s not, you need to call in sick and get it taken care of. Driving a cmv whole suspended is a HUGE ####ing deal. Guarantee some idiot will suicide themselves on your bumper by morning if you drive while revoked and they will throw the book at you.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Have 500 or 1000 dollar credit to protect that checking account.
Last month my Norton Security (Yea I know, it's not the best but it has intercepted a number of intruders in it's time over the years) autobilled my checking account for the 89.99 renewal fee for one year.
It caused it to be overdrafted by 50.00 at a minimum and incurred a 40.00 overdraft charge at my bank. I contacted Norton and raised holy hell with the customer service chat and by the time the smoke cleared they had refunded the 89.99 that was NOT DUE until the 19th of this month exactly and groveled to keep my account by charging me 49.99 plus a couple of other luxuries when I was ready to pay it manually via credit or bank card from my checking.
I transferred the entire chat transcript over to the Bank which included the method by which they create auto pay by default deep within the settings of those who hold paid Subscriptions within their structure and the fact that they reached into my wallet so to speak by ACH and against my will took the money a month plus early. In addition by taking this money they threatened to create a hot 10.00 manual check to a hospital which I had written that week (Arrestable offense in my state if it bounces) plus two other small auto drafts that were due that week generating at a minimum 120 dollars in overdraft fees alone. I very carefully and diplomatically indicated to Norton this would be the final straw and we will never see each other again despite 20 years of subscribing. (Who is the fool... me...)
The bank went into action on their end at Little Rock all the way to the board of directors on my plea and managed for this one time to waive all the overcharges to attach against next month's fixed deposit amount income and waived the idea that a ordinary check will bounce and be referred to law enforcement in my area for arrest which means I will sit in jail between three to thirty days max plus court fines, restitution and so on ad nausea.
By hour 15 I had assurances from all of the parties involved within the bank, the moocher and the three valid bill payees, two were ACH and one was a paper check. And no fees.
I built another checking account with it's own debit card and ACH protection of 500 credit strictly for internet. In another bank. So that nothing in my primary motherlode account as it were where all of my corebills come out does not see the Internet anymore anywhere. All of my billers who auto draft would live to see me go paper less and not send me formal paper bills in the mail. I refuse to do that. If they want their money they must send me the bill to be paid by paper check. Not ACH.
Also...
All of my billers has been slyly and slowly moving all of the due dates closer to earlier than the 10th. When the checks go out to pay these bills on the third. No matter what the situation is all of them arrive by the 10th to 12th at the latest. When billers move the due date towards say the 8th of the month and I don't catch it in time to call customer service and tell them to push the due date back to the 14th which is my standard date because I pay on paper checks and they need time to get there.
I get assessed a additional fee equal to a regular payment on the credit card for example which usually pushes me over limit which incurs more fees and triggers a punitive interest of 35% until balance is brought back below limits. Due to these creeping due by dates constantly moving ever closer to the first of the month.
What happens at that point is I close that particular account and send it to collections which is dealt their own way.
Normally I would not share any details of ordinary bill paying, but when a poster stated that they have Autodraft checking accounts going on etc.. that's nice but you must have at lest a 500 or 1000 dollar line of credit to protect it. You WILL be assessed a fee for everything that bounces. Something between 25 to 50 dollars a offense. AND the entire account must be made right and correct up to date within 60 days or IT will be written off by your bank and you personally are unable to hold anymore checking accounts for a while. Something like 7 years at any bank.
One time I was bad sick in the hospital and wife was baby sitting the tractortrailer and essentially all of our bills failed to clear the bank one month. I think it was about roughly 24 bills to pay totalling 3200 for the month around 2000 fall time period. That bank paid all of that money assessing almost a thousand more in fees as they did it, turned around and demanded that money essentially instantly and so on.
The trucking company went ahead and found 7 unpaid trips during a careful investigation of our activiites from our Journal (Unnamed to protect them) which included all of the real world pickup, arrival dates times and most importantly the trip numbers by which payroll calculates the weekly pay. They were three weeks behind.
DM ordered a comcheck to be cut and in addition as a courtesy ordered a immediate bank wire made to our angry bank in a amount exceeding the problem. By this manner all of our money challenges went away and the company was caught up. Including withholding taxes etc. If we did not carry that big journal with the unpaid trips marked in red and carefully stated our case we would have never seen a penny of it.
Im pretty sure there were pathways to other solutions against all the parties involved. But we chose to be very simple in our behavior. Pay us, and we will fix the rest in a few hours at home. Have a load ready for us in a day or less. They were ready in 6 hours flat.
Small things like that ensure our loyalty and reinforced our need to be very very careful to check every penny all around to ensure all is in order twice a day every day.
I tell you this much. That tractor did alot of sitting several hours a day when we did nothing but check everything related to personal money, billing and services at home in addition to filling out everything required for turning in to the Courier to send to HQ so that they will generate a paycheck for that load.
For everything we put into those tripmaster envelopes to drop off, copies had to be and were made in beautiful colors and clarity at a quality copy shop. Sometimes we take 15 spaces at a univerity somewhere, took everything and a roll of dimes to make black and white copies or scans in the Library, the only problem with that particular type of copying is that there is a hard drive that does nothing but RECORD everything ever copied by that machine. So there was additional time whiting out social security numbers and so on. We evolved to using tacky tape of a painters kind in blue. Aint nothing copying a #### thing off the originals through that covering.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
