Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

This discussion has highlighted the difference in thinking on both sides of the big pond.
Europeans want a practical, functional, and comfortable truck. Of course it should look nice, but a good working place is more important.
Americans are so fixated on looks, that they gladly partly give up these three things for what they think are better looks. Not being able to stand in your sleeper is fine, if it makes the truck look better. Using smooth stainless plates looks better, so don't use diamond plates, even if those smooth plates are slippery and downright dangerous.
I suppose that's why you can see many US trucks on shows here, but hardly any actually being used to work with. Great show items, but that's it. -

it is interesting to me that all trucks on peterbilt steve have trailer hoses bracket that is not best looking one, also wires and hoses that goes to brackrt are ugly -
