These union shops do this crap all of the time. I know a few guys at Holland, they are not happy but are worried about their pensions, which have been slashed. Never ends up good with these outfits. If it were me, I would start looking for another gig. Just my .02
Can this be a great thing moving forward?

We don't have a driver shortage, just look around with the number of active cdl hoilders not dropping off or the national and regional capacity not changing but remaining overcapacity, product is not sitting on the dock with excessive dwell times, drivers are not hitting their 34 in mass.
What we have is companies trying to capture the possible revenue by over expanding their capacity and using cheap labor to do so. The greed factor is ramping up however it won't last, there will be a peak on rates because of delay between capacity and freight needs then rates will slam downward to levels below what we had last year because the glut of capacity and cheap labor.brsims Thanks this. -
Never mind this. Was posted wrong in wrong thread.

Yes on the greed factor, but many of these outfits are dropping the ball.

Why shouldnt that be minimum wage? That's not exactly great money if you have a family. It's ok if you fly solo depending on where you live in the country.
