Well they're not supposed to park, or drive too many hours a day, or be close to BMWs you know what I'm saying.

I don't believe in the " driver shortage".

    driver retention, yes.

It all comes down to your position in the industry. Some want just the right amount of trucks, today and tomorrow (higher rates, higher cost of goods).

Some want far too many trucks, today and tomorrow (lower rates, cheaper goods, never-ending "need" for cheap, foreign labor).

Yes, truckload counts will continue to rise in the future, keeping pace with an improving economy. But too many current drivers aren't working anywhere near their maximum capacity due to poor planning, inefficient logistics, messed up HOS rules, and poor utilization of assets.

Run drivers closer to their maximum, eliminate stupid HOS rules such as the 70/8, and utilize them better, and take better care of them with wages to keep them motivated to remain in the industry. There is no "shortage". Trucks can be more picky and demand higher rates, but so what? The freight can/will be moved, today and tomorrow unless you continue to muddy the waters with false stories and claims to promote some misguided agenda as some keep the industry wondering if it's coming or going..

I got room for 15 or so trucks, I’ll charge 10 bucks for a mega company truck, 30 for an owner op and an extra 100 if they’re not on elogs.
