I'm thinkin' that there are those thinkin' ----
The "middle of no where", could include
New York City or Chicago, ..... or ANY Big City.
I remember hittin' sumthin' in the road comin' into Wamsutter --- 'bout 5 miles up-head of me, thar at ExiT 173, if I recall.
Beleive me, ain't too much thar.
And I figured what are the chances I'll EVER
get outta thar with a ruptured left-side fuel tank, recently filled in Cheyene,
ruptured at the very bottom.
Should I have been bummed?
Hmmmmmmmmm
As it turned out, ---- and consiterin' this is around 1:am --- that's in the morning.
EVERYthing, except the ....... uhhhhh ...... fuel stop & GO, was closed for the cold, windy night.
Imagine that.
Now imagine this, ...... the gas station owner/mechanic/paving contractor/tow-truck driver ----
Y'all get the picture?
Or should I digress?
Okay--- that mechanic, etc., needs to be cloned.
That man fixed my problem in about an hour, AND
GeT THIS, ..... for a reasonalbe, no, VERY reasonable charge.
But, then again, ....... he sucked up about 110 gallons of
diesel fuel.
I had nowhere to put it.
And he DID mention how mixin' diesel with other stuff
makes a "dad-gummed-fine" paving material.
If that fuel tank hada gotten ruptured in some more, uhhhhhh, ..... convenient location near a larger city?
Can we say E.P.A.? ($$$$$$$) Fines?
YuP!
And mega clean-up costs to absorb.
(Pun intended)
When I left, I heard 'em exclaim
WitH the WIND,
by daybreak
There'll be NO trace that y'all
were ever here,
hear?
As I disappeared from sight
And outta my mind, too.
HoW cool was that?!
WhEW!
Thank You, Jesus.
OH!
BTW.
Part of that story should include that I agreed to
pay cash out of my pocket, (with the truckin' company's head mechanic's OK) to git-'er-done, and not have to keep callin' him back
all the time,
especially at OH-too-early&thirty (times)
in the mornin'.
And the company paid me back on my next check.
With a thank-you attached.
Imagine that.
It's twue!
It's twue!

Reminds me AfterShock back about 15 years ago I was hauling grain out to the coast from local farms around here...had to load by my air gauges & the ground was a bit soft...so needless to say I wasn't as accurate as I normally was...now I could put 44 ton one my Super B's, but BC mean Bring Cash for truckers...so you DON'T want to be overweight...well the first scale I came to was about an hour from the BC border & just outside the Jasper National Park gate...wouldn't ya know I was 3 tons overweight?
Well thankkfully there's lots of elk, moose & deer in that park...so I called up one of my buddies at the forest service to see if I could dump some of this grain someplace...it was a skinny year for the animals...so free food would be appreciated I thought...sure enough they were happy to have it...so off I went to some lonely back trail & literally dumped 3 tons of wheat on the ground... Am ###### usre one couldn't get away from that now!AfterShock, Baack and Ducks Thank this. -
'Kat, you're incredible! That's all I can say...
Wildkat Thanks this. -
Kat is one cool fox.
She thinks outside the box.
And I don't mean litter ----
She fed the critters.
-
I've always had to think outside the box AfterShock...I spent many years as a single parent & wasn't fortunate enough to have a spouse to lean on or support me (emotionally or otherwise) until I was in my late 30's. I feel for my hubby somedays & often wonder if he really knew just what he was letting himself in for!
I love animals of all kinds & it doesn't matter if they are my kitties or the neighbourhood moose..if they are hungry I will do what I can to feed them...
This is out my kitchen window just before Christmas...We have a mother & daughter moose that have been hanging around the yard for several years now...last year the daughter had twins...the old moose is too old for calves now..so she just helps with the babysitting... LOL
Anyway I was going to the small town we live near for groceries & walked out the back door & there they were ... all 4 of them standing around my car...needless to say I waited awhile to go to town!Last edited: Jan 14, 2009

WoW, Kat ---- Just WoW!
I wonder if you realize just how much many of us appreciate your posts
and the photos you include with them?
Me?
I live in Southern California, the Land-0-Fruits & Nutz. We don't see the sights you do,
but we sure enjoy seein' how the rest
of the world looks at thangs.
The view out your window --- of the moose in your yard --- caught the eye
of a non-truckin' friend of mine this mornin'.
He asked me what the photos were, and I explained they're posted by a
Big truck truck driver, waayyy up north, who drives the frozen country and
the Ice Roads.
My friend thought that was cool, and asked me how "he" likes "his" job?
I grinned.
And informed my friend that it ain't a guy ----
It's a chick.
NO Waayyy!
He questioned.
WaY ---- I assured him.
And now, Kat, ..... you have yet another fan out here.
OH!
BTW -----
My friend is 6' 7" -----
So, if you happen to see him in your yard,
Fret not, for he is NOT Big Foot.
At least not THE Big Foot.
I don't think, ..... anyway.

Thank you so much AfterShock.. I am always happy to show off the sights I see...you see I am rather biased...I happen to firmly believe I live in God's Country & I just love showing it off!
Oh I know California is somewhat of a different place...furthest I ever got there was some itty bitty little town just off the Mohave...###### if I can remember the name of it tho...what I DO remember is the bloody ticket I got for being overlength! I decided that California was a place I did NOT need to revisit!
You know...I get that alot...everyone ALWAYS "assumes" am a guy! The funniest times are when I climb down from my pretty purple Pete & someone says to me "You DRIVE that thing?" Wanna guess what I say? "Naw...I just sit here & look pretty!" I guess I often get that response as I have to stand real tall to make 5'...Last summer I went through a roadside inspection & even the inspector...who was young enough to be my son was kind of speechless...paid me a cute compliment...told me I didn't look like any truck driver he ever saw before! LOL
HAHAHAHAH!
Here's one for you...me & my hubby...my daughter is a pro-photographer & managed to catch a picture of us last summer...
Baack and AfterShock Thank this. -
I think I'da guessed that.
-
Movie*Star material!
BOTH of y'all.
