No brother not naive in the least bit....I actually used to think like all of you. Then I saw different walks of life out here on the road.
Can this be a great thing moving forward?

if you choose to stand behind the counter at mc donalds , oh well no hope as an adult. its not an adult job or an adult wage.
explain to me HOW or WHY they should get more then $8 per hour? furthermore it just drives up the cost of living. the cost of things are often loosely based upon the wages that are paid in the service sector. -

that's right...... BUT if all wages go up, how are we any further ahead..... were not. problem is the rest of the wages wont go up, if they do it wont be at the same government manipulated rate. so how is the fair on people that put effort in and actually work ###### hard.
i work 6 days per week continuously, i sometimes wait at farms, plants, and occasional breakdowns and i dont always get paid for all of it. i do this because at the end of the year i know i will make significantly more then minimum wage.
are these fast food pukes going to do what i do??? IF NOT, they can keep on making crap money. -
Corporations would pay us all less if they could. That's fine. When corporations, taken as a whole are producing record profits, but they game the system by making workers "be on call", and never allowing the employees to work enough hours to qualify for a raise, or benefits, or paid time off that's fine as well. It's the workers job to seek out a job/pay commensurate with the abilities and usefulness to the business.
I love the idea of the $15 minimum wage though. I think it's just there to scare the #### out of corporations to have them offer a better package to their employees.
In-and-out burger pays an associate $13 to start per hour plus benefits. Assistant mangers seem to start at about $20. According to Inc Magazine a manger can make 6 figures. Of course they are a private corporation and small compared to McD (37,0000 stores) or 5 guys (1500 stores). They also have a perceived better product and better image. I find this very interesting.
I wonder what the over / under is on welfare vs increase in minimum wage. Are we gainfully employed still paying for it? Now, how many of those corporations are also on corporate welfare, or paying as close to zero tax as they can? They should pay as little as they can, but what about some common sense between the right and the left so they stop ### ####ing those of us in the middle class? I'd rather have my taxes go to corporate welfare and force them to pay...at least the people are working. I don't know the answer I but I seem to hear about it a lot. I could be wrong on that. -

Profit is a dirty word. Just ask a snowflake.

that's B.S., i expect my boss to make a profit, i want him to make a profit..... if he doesnt make a profit why else do it? where is the money to invest in new trucks? where is the money to keep afloat? HE does invest in brand new trucks, i happen to drive one of the older trucks but he probably orders brand new truck at the rate of 3-4 units per year. sometimes more.
do it out of the kindness of his heart? that all well and good but that's not the way this world works.Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
