Or you could have made paper logs legal before moving again. Problem solved.

The big billboard truck attorneys will love this new guidance. Might keep us from getting a ticket but won't keep us from getting our shirts sued right off our back when something goes wrong.
It benefits shippers and receivers. Not us. Lol. It's about the driver shortage thing everyone all of a sudden wants to whine about ya know. Sounds like some more half baked clown shoes bs to try and keep everyone happy in a system they continually make more inefficient.

But they still have not answered "what is a reasonable distance to get to a safe place to park". So, you unload/load on Long Island, and is Carlisle to far to PC to find a safe place?? Certain days/times are going to make finding a safe place to park difficult.
    A Band-Aid solution to a growing problem.

Exactly. This does little for drivers, and much for shippers and receivers.
"It took me 6 hours to load you and you say you're out of hours? Tough luck, driver. Go to 'off duty driving' and get your ### off the property."

The man ALWAYS gets his way. Anyone hear of OOIDA or any other truckers advocate asking for this?
    Right. No.

    Yeppers.

My question is how this actually changes anything? From posts here it seems to most common use of PC was to go to a truck stop after running out of hours unloading. As for the laden/unladen issue, one cannot move under PC at the direction of the motor carrier. If they say go get loaded @ 13 hours and PC to a truck stop, that breaks HOS. The laden is to allow box trucks to be able to go PC like a semi can (as long as the trailer was dropped).
The way I see it is there is no difference of a semi going to Wal-Mart on his 34 to restock, and a FedEx Custom Critical box truck with a sleeper doing the same. Or watching a movie, or even hitting a bar or night club somewhere...

Well, I'm just thankful this receiver showed up an hour early, cause I had to take a giant ####.
This far outweighs any #### ever taken by a rhinoceros, or any HOS issue.
What if he wasn't here yet?
What if a bus load of school children were to drive by while my hairy ### is hanging over the DOT bumper?

I do like the flexibility it gives the individual, I do understand the laden part, there are a lot of drivers out there that can NEVER get unladen, but yet are required to be on Elogs, all of the service truck industry comes to mind, Welders, mechanic trucks, straight trucks, buses etc.

But honestly, it will come down to frequency of abuse, if all of a companies drivers are always having to use PC, then something is wrong, now how they go about gleaning this info? Who knows,,,,,,,,,,
