I need the CDL for that work??
-
Okay so if i rate my trailer Just that 10,000 lbs i wont need CDL right?.
-
It’s a thin line and doesn’t allow for much more than 2 light cars on a trailer but by the law in most states. Yes.BigBob410 Thanks this.

Like Zig said...you won't be hauling much. And if you go over and get the right Bear it's going to get ugly!!
-
Why not take your truck and empty trailer (over 10K gross) to the DMV to get the appropriate CDL. I met a guy who got his Class A with his pick up truck and a large trailer. It just had automatic transmission limitation and no air brakes endorsement.

If you downgrade to a 3500 and the right 3 car trailer you can run it non cdl. Im debating on buying one and letting my brothers drive it. I can get alot of gauranteed work for it. In my situation its not enough consistent work for a 5+ car hauler and its a little to much for a 2 car flatbed. So im in a bit of a hard spot

And in my case my brothers do have a cdl. And every now and then the work will be a couple 1500's or tahoes and escalades or similar sized vehicles. So im undecided but im leaning more towards that. Until something forces a change

IF, you only want to haul two cars and don't want a CDL why not just buy a medium duty non air brake truck, small cummins, hyd. disc brakes, chassis should come in around 10,000, build a drive on ramp deck for it, probably another 4,000 now you have a legitimate truck chassis that can handle up to 12,000 of cargo and still not be over 26,001 and you will have far less maintenance and tolls and costs, with no trailer???
Terry270 Thanks this. -
I was thinking of one of those trucks. I think they call them ramp trucks. With a 2 car trailer so it can haul 3 vehicles
