I just got my cdl permit along with my 2 year medical card in New Jersey where I live. I am trying to explore options as to whether to go to cdl school or do company sponsored training. I know that most company sponsored training is or, however do to my circumstances I don't know if I could afford to be away from home for long periods of time right now. Are there any companies in south jersey that do sponsored training that do regional or local runs? I wouldn't mind going to cdl school but some people say that it's a waste of money and others say it's not so I don't know. There's just a lot of information out there and I could use some advice from someone on which could be the better route to take.
Cdl school vs company paid training which is better

You checked out the state run tech schools ? -
Check with Schneider. They have lots of local/regional runs in your area. They might pay for cdl school.
Mclane Food Service sometimes hires "driver trainees" with only a cdl permit. You work with another driver and he trains you OJT while you help him make deliveries and pickups. You're an employee and being paid for this. -
