DD15 is the same as the rest. At 500 to 600K they start to leak everywhere.

Dude just paid $8000 to have his engine regasketed, and it happened quick.

If the one box goes - $10,000. And it will go.

The plastic oil pick up tube breaks, and falls into the pan.
    BOOM!!!!
    Main bearings go buh byes.

Does this put you more at ease?

I think, and believe you are correct. The X-15 may just be the game changer. The only reason I say that is due to the fact we as owners can get into the programing and Cummins has isolated the fuel pump from the oil circuit in the motor. So, when the fuel pump fails, it does not boat anchor the motor. Same crap fuel pump, but at least they figured out a way to prevent its failure from destroying the entire motor. I would buy one.

    really where?

To the OP, don't play games or listen to drivers.

When you buy any truck, you do Due Diligence to find a truck that you have a lower risk of breaking down. There are specific steps in doing that, there is a lot of things written about what is needed and why.

Search for them, read it, print it and do them.

Well when I get home I'll need a PM. The guy that does mine cares for a fleet of about 50 trucks, 40 are Cascadia's with DD15s.

They have a 20% oil tube drop rate.

He has 3 bays to wrench. 2 of the bays now have a DD15 boat anchor at one end that he gets what he can off of, cause the rotating assemblies are trashed.

1 they did an out of frame rebuild on, which was one of my old trucks ( 2013 ).

They just got it back together when I did my last PM ( 20,000 ago ) so I'll find out how it's doing.
Cost was $22,000 with a new harness.

Detroit says once the mains are spun, it's trashed. So they experimenting on this one.

I'll take photos of the boat anchors and the collection of one boxes and one box parts.

Maybe you won't listen to your eyes either.

This guy mother ####s those DD15s all day long.
They are at a crossroads because they have gotten like a dozen class 1 oil leak inspection failures in the last few months.
    They leak like a siv.

    uncleal13 and Lepton1 Thank this.

And I still don't understand why a company like FedEx has ALL red engines in their company trucks if they are such poor quality.
