That's what i was told in an interview with an LTL, they expect to use any tractor at any time. Likewise on the railroad, it's 99% slip seating. If you're in a yard or local someone will use that engine 24/7 and you'll use a different set every day out of the ones they have. If it's on the road you may never see that one again. Either way, if you leave something on an engine, it's likely gone.

You guys are making me grateful I only share the truck with my partner in the city. The only time another driver will use it is if one of us is on vacation and they need to use it as a spare. And in those cases, we can easily find out who drove it so people are accountable if they trash a truck.

My current run has four legs totalling 496 miles. I may consider running open again for the variety and extra money, but for now I'm focused on getting done early every morning. I just bought a house and there's a TON of stuff to do. I need all the extra time I can get.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
I just do local pick ups, deliveries and drop and hooks. Pretty much drive anywhere in my state (Michigan) that I can go and be back within my 11 hour drive time. I have been down close to South Bend, Indiana a couple times and over to Ohio once so far.
My company assigns me a truck, it's my truck I drive every day. It's a day cab 2011 Freightliner M2 3 axle, has a DD13 in it. I think it's a nice truck and I like driving it, it's pretty easy to maneuver around in.
