I'm not sure what you're talking about cheap freight....I'm on the dry van side and my company has been able to draw a steady $2-$3 per mile. Maybe the economy is better....where you been running to? A bunch of dead spots?

The OP may or may not be racist.....he made an unnecessary observation about Pakis in one post. Now he wants to go back to the original post. If I'm a betting man, I'd say that the OP is a lease purchase driver, less than 5 years experience, and little to no clue how the industry works. He ain't a true owner operator, just a glorified company driver, better know as lease purchase driver. He made a post fussing about cheap freight. All of you who know your stuff busted him on inaccurate facts. This is what happens when a lease lurchpur driver hauls many loads for the price he mentioned.....you can't fool me, OP. My mom always said, "It's better to be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Yeah... anyone who isn't doing great now isn't going to start doing great in the future. If you can't profit in this environment it's YOU who is hauling the cheap freight and driving rates down. I'm paying 4 bucks a mile from AR to Chicago several times a day lol. Just regular dry freight.

Christ, what is so hard to understand about the question???
If loads paid $4-5 a mile back in '05, and now they only pay $3, which period is better??? That should be simple to understand.
Maybe whats happening is the people clamoring the most about this question only hhave a couple years in the game so they dont really have that much experience to compare??? -
I think it has something to do with economics. I dunno though, I'm not a college prof like some of you on here, lol. All high n mighty and whatnot. -
The word "NO" is understood in almost every language around the world. Just a little history lesson for you when I was a kid my dad bought a house for 2 years wages. He could make $20 an hour for general labor.that was 30 years ago. Wages go up very little compared to inflation. The problem is cheap labor comes from everyone who is afraid.Whatever your race or ethnicity you can be scared to lose your livelihood for the family. In fact most guys don't even know what thier expenses are they just want to work more. Even for less. I'm guilty of running that way before I started crunching numbers more and realizing I make much better money now that I've learned to pick and choose. But when you're scared the most difficult thing to do is stop and crunch the numbers, let alone say no to work and sit home while in your mind you could have been out there at least making something. There's always going to be wolves and sheep no one says you have to be a sheep. But for some people they feel like they're at least being proactive rather than sitting around worrying about making ends meet. It took me a long time to get over sitting for a day or two to wait for better pay .But 3 days of $800 to $1000 a day or 6 days of $500 . I like the power of the word NO

The sheer volume of ignorant rookie operators out here out number the immigrant operators by a significant margin.
The ignorant attitudes posting in this thread are mind boggling to me.
As I already stated,.... Anyone not enjoying record gross revenue right now are in my opinion the ones who are operating for cheap rates.
Also,... there should be no reason anyone posting here who needs to divulge their ethnicity or immigration status so others can curb their tone before posting. We are truckers and brothers together. We are all are in this to be successful.
If a foreigner comes here and is doing better than you, I say more power to him, that's what he is supposed to be doing. That's chasing the American dream. They came here to work. Thats more than I can say for many of the lazy white male baby daddy's living off their baby mommas monthly govt baby care package.

All this is is a forum to ask a question and pick the brains of guys who have been in the game for a while and can offer insight. Instead, your instinct is to shut it down because it offends you. And to that, I say piss off. -
I provided a direct educated post based on my experience. If you want to blame immigrants for you and your truckstop counter friends who cant figure it out then that is your problem.
You should go back to your baby momma.
Hurstbryan21384 and Snailexpress Thank this. -
Careful what YOU say in person. I'm sure you've already learned that a time or two before though.
