Dont they assemble the equipment you guys move all over the place? Dont they move some by rail? Dont they have used units all over the place? I didnt ask the exact customer of where it was picked up. How the hell can i google such a vague thing?

If you know what to google, you absolutely can find it.
This ain't "cliquing up" it's several people that more than likely have had someone preface a conversation with questions like you asked- then finding out a short time later that they don't have the work they talked about anymore.MartinFromBC, sawmill, Feedman and 6 others Thank this. -
Here let me settle this...
This machine is new and only built in one place in the us. And they ship a large number every week. It can be very competitive or Name your price - depends on day and destination.
I am taking the machine to California.
I probably take 8-10 of these a year and they usually get me home.
It is a very touchy subject and very different from general freight. There are only so many loads big enough to haul ... so sharing The Who and the Where is not ideal.
Most of us are easy going and will share information freely up to a point.
Feel free to ask questions but be understanding if some of them don’t get answered in explicit detail.MartinFromBC, 1johnb, Tug Toy and 14 others Thank this. -
A few years ago I was venting on here after getting burned by a broker who never had the load in the first place. It turned out this guy was some sort of offshoot for TQL that handled some stuff for them out of Canada.
I #####ed a bit about how things went down, and what do you know. I get a p.m message from tql on this very site wanting more information so they could "look into it". And "make me happy".
Loose lips sink ships!MartinFromBC, Tug Toy, cke and 6 others Thank this. -

Hopefully i didn't make any of you old farts(no offense im pretty sure most of you guys are easily twice my age) blood boil with this little miss understanding. What you guys do is something i've always wanted to do. This is my classrom for the OSOW field of work. Sure i'd love some on the job training. But i'd take a drastic pay cut. So i sit back and observe and ask questions and hopefully something will come my way. Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers or anything
snowman_w900 and Ruthless Thank this. -
Kind of makes me think, it might be a fun time to have a thread about "how I got screwed" and rehash all the fun times we've all had trying to work for a living, and getting ####ed by somebody lol
One time I asked an acquaintance to help me out by pulling a load for a good customer of mine, because it had to be there a certain day. I knew it would bring him right back to his house, and pay him one hell of a lot more than he ever makes hauling for anybody else direct. I was already committed for the day they needed the product, so I figured I would kill two birds with one stone, help a fellow make some money, and keep a customer happy that their product is delivered on time. I gave him all the details, and was there when he loaded and showed him all the securement techniques, because they are kind of important with that particular product. This mother####er, right in front of me, tells my customer that he can service them entirely, for less than what I charge.
Meanwhile, I am paying him, not my customer.
It was funny to see my customers reaction though, one of very few people that I can say would not hesitate to tell someone to #### off for trying to backdoor me.
I can't honestly think of any other customer that wouldn't listen and certainly consider a pitch like that.
