Might as well post this before one of you sees me hiding at the rest area and snaps a picture. I know way back people were wagering what would come off of the deck first in my flatbed adventure. I’m proud to say that this is my first and hopefully last serious #### up when it comes to pulling open decks. Everything seemed smooth but this was a really really weird shape and shipper wouldn’t let me leave without tarping the load. So I did my best given the circumstances... the load didn’t have any rough edges or anything that I could tell when I was working with it. So I went ahead and tarped it. The wind beat my tarp to hell and this is the result.

I discovered it during my load check, but I thought well there’s a rest area about 5 miles away. I’ll pull in there and decide what to do about it... 5 miles later...

Enjoy. I’m going to log sleeper until it gets dark and cools off a bit before I get out there and mess with this crap lol.

It's good to leave it vented anyway. Don't want condensation building up inside and rusting the machinery. :D

Put gorilla tape on the outside to get it all lined up properly. Patch the inside. Then patch the outside.

    That sucks.

If the bills didn’t specifically say that delivery required the load to be tarped, I’d be pulling the tarp off of this load and driving it naked to deliver. Pretty embarrassing really... I slowed down enough that a Prime flatbed driver caught up to me and he was shaking his head. I didn’t make eye contact. Just looked down and pretended to be playing with my phone. If you don’t make eye contact, it never happened.

Anyone that’s done much tarping has had something similar happen. It sucks, but one things for sure, this taught you something.

Well, we tarp almost everything. And yes, it taught me that I’m going to bribe my way up the list to get a curtain van lol
