They are air release pins. Yeah I walked around and double check the pins are all retracted. But yes when I apply trolly break and the breaks are set meaning the trailer shouldn't move the wheels are still moving. Not dragging actually turning waiting to get them checked now

You need to drive the truck around up to 15-20 mph and stab the brakes hard. Bounce it around a little, then try getting the tandems to slide. Adjust the slacks if necessary. Heck, tighten them to the drum if you have to so the tandems will slide.

Had a similar problem and it was a failing air brake relay. Good luck on yours, let us know what the shop says.

You must not use the trolley brake or press in the red trailer button. As soon as you push the red button in, you just locked the pins back again.

With an air activated pin system you are forced to rely on spring brakes only! I.e. The red trailer button MUST BE PULLED while you are sliding. I don't know any other way to say it.

(Trolley brake does not work with red button pulled so this is not an option with air activated pins system)

Are all air activated systems this way?

I honestly don't know. I don't slide axles on the skateboards.

Every one I've dealt with past 10 years. Great Dane and Utility.

It's a safety feature but is also a convenience feature. I see new guys all the time that have difficulty processing this.

Your brakes are way out of adjustment for some reason, maybe just out of adjustment and nothing else mechanical.

Get the TA to adjust them, if you don't know how. Be safe not sorry.

And furthermore, if there is a twist or damage in the rail or the slide rail is somehow "really stuck", no amount of pulling and shoving is going to work. And if the brakes do hold, you're just going to end up snapping a drive shaft or u-joint. But it's rare they become that stuck together.

Few months ago I tried telling one guy who was having difficulty where a pin was still out. He looked at it, went back to the truck and continued to try and slide them
