These kinds of convictions can be part of background checks, but not something you need worry about. I remember one of the guys I was in orientation with was commenting about a seat belt ticket he got in Texas that he was asked about. He did not list it and was for a while concerned about it. Turns out they let him stay. Just make sure you list them if asked. Otherwise don't worry about it.

I think being observed talking on a cellphone is a primary offense in NV.

I have respect for you. Because of that I invite you to read the following series.

Is Driving Over 100 MPH a Felony Offense?

    Maryland’s Speeding Laws and Penalties

Maryland's Reckless and Negligent Driving Laws and Penalties

Traffic Ticket Fines & Penalties in Maryland | DMV.ORG

Again Felonies are pretty easy to come by if speeding is combined with something else. In my case I held a Class A in my personal vehicle usually engaged in top end with another vehicle or three. That constitutes a race event of a sort. Blowing through a construction or school zone etc only increases the hammer the court house judge will be using. Boom boom boom.

My information is or was delivered by many irate state troopers who have managed to either corral me or visit my place of work where that particular car was and have a free coffee while unloading both barrels to educate me. One in particular he's probably a Colonel now in the MSP or higher by now. But he lived on a farm which I routinely blazed by at 2 am in the morning with the glass packs and straight pipe off headers howling on that mile of straight. He would come in the following day pretty upset.

One day I passed his farm yet again at 135 with a Lambo driven by a doctor friend essentially waiting for his opening to get around me (Im in the way) and really open up. He got around me and was gone. There is just absolutely no way I could stay with a 205 mph super car in those days. He did say my own ran pretty good for what it was but the police man witnessed it and came in to do some yelling.

This time he started stacking possibilities should I do that stupid stuff again on his road. And when he did tick off the possibilites all I heard was felony this felony that felony over there and delivered in a very profane and direct manner. The lesson was clear, I either stop it or MSP would make #### sure I got stopped.

What he could not know at that time was the entire car coming out of winter was completely rusted out in it's entire wiring system from road salt. About the 1993 after the great blizzard event. And so the car was sold off.

It was a great sense of relief I sold that thing and got rid of it. If I had known it would be worth in excess of 50K decades later I would have put it into storage. But no. It's best just to dump it. So the next buyer bought it for a song.

One of these days Im going to pay for access to a database availible to classic car owners and enter my specific information, vin and what not to see where that car ended up or is still on the road today. (I doubt it.) The only way it could be saved from system wide rust would be to relocate to Lake Havastu, Yuma or san diego away from the salt, winters and corrosive rain. (Acid rain)

There is a dividing line between a little boy with too much car and no sense in those days versus what I had become the other way, much more professional and harder. So it's much better living here in the South. No worries. (No more Maryland wolfpacks either.)

I respect you as a person. And value your posts. But my own personal journey and incessant encounters with Police either at city, county or state level they all have tried to help me in their own way before I self destructed with that stupid car. All in all I think they succeeded. You could call it a form of community contributions to keep kids from going astray later in life. So I remain loyal to them for that. But not too much.

Prince Georges County howeer. A friend of mine who chooses not to be in my life in my later years for a variety of good reasons nothing baaadl But he once poured some riches into a mid 70s vehicle with something on order of about 600 horse double carb double pump and small charger to feed it coupled to a 400 power glid transmissions with a replaced rear axle where the gearing rations were outrageious. As close to 5 as you could get ot witj nitrogen gas supsnesion plus sway bars front and back and a small number of saftey caging plus a few other goodies.

It is my absolute belief this mn and my hope that he etered car building process for LIVING.

The OP said he was pulled over because he was talking on his cellphone. That might well had been all of it.

Your first link was the only one I saw the word felony, and I only scanned the others lightly. Even in that the words (under some circumstances) was used. I know if I get liquored up and run over and kill someone i'm headed to a felony. I just don't think first offense basic speeding at what ever over is a felony just by itself.

I get my doors blown off in my personal pickup and rentals when driving around anywhere in Texas or Colorado doing 75-80. I often wonder if these chronic speeders have lawyers on retainer and trust-funds to cover what I consider, "knee-smashable" habits.

@Ridgeline does background checks; he can give you the info on what shows up.
    Don't worry, you'll find a decent job.
Are you going to attend a private cdl school? As soon as you have a start date for school, submit some applications and wait for job offers. You'll get job offers contingent upon completing cdl school.
    Which school are you considering?
