That’s a very good week. I’m back st the Loves. I load up in the am. Going to bust tail to Winter Haven so I can T Call this load to get it on the pay period. It delivers Tuesday. So if I wait, I won’t have a check that week. Love the long runs, but I do believe I get more miles in a pay period when shorter ones. I do like only having to drive for 5 days in a row though...lol

Doing a 34 then dead heading back to Washington to load Monday for Fort Stockton, Texas. I scheduled home time for July 2nd last week with Clovis dispatch. I know it was entered in because a Florida dispatcher mentioned to me on the phone that he saw it in there when I was in South Dakota. During my call with California this afternoon I asked if he could confirm it was still showing in the computer. He said no and to call Clovis to see if they would re enter it. So I did, and they put it back in the system. They were clueless as to who took it out. Seemed kinda strange. Guess It’s a good idea to keep confirming/reminding when it starts getting close to your time off in case a dispatcher removes the notes for some reason.

That happens to me every home time. Last time, I asked 3 different times and they have said it wasn’t in the system. It is strange. Have always gotten home, but I always have to remind them. I sitting with 5 other IRT drivers here at Loves. All scheduled to load tomorrow at different locations.

I usually try to get on a load that takes me that direction a week or 2 prior to when I’m wanting off. Then once I’m in the area, I tell them to run me close and give me regional runs until my home time. A lot of times I end up getting home a day or 2 earlier than I scheduled or sometimes a day after. That’s totally understandable with me and I don’t blame IRT for that considering the nature of the job. To bring a guy in from across the country and get you in your driveway at exactly the day you wanted would be pretty tough for any company. If I want off on a Friday I tell them I want off Wednesday. If I want off on a Wednesday, I tell them Monday. Usually works pretty good that way.

Yep. I do the same. Always request a day or two ahead of the day I’m wanting home. Have never had a issue getting home. Helps that I’m in Florida as well. Like you said, getting that load home, the exact time you want to be there and you’re in California might be tough.

Miles won’t matter to many short loads that pay percentage
