So I was sleeping at a shipper for 10 hours, woke up and went in to see if my load was ready. Got my paper work and what not and found my trailer in the door. I get to it, hook onto it, check my pin and put the airlines on. Half asleep me I got back in the truck and tried to move forward. Felt some resistance and checked to see if maybe I missed a chock somewhere. Saw no chocks, got back in my truck and still felt resistance when I tried to move forward. Moved like 8 feet forward to close the doors. When I got out I realized I forgot to put the landing gear up. There was a long scratch mark on the ground like 8 feet long. Nobody saw anything so I just left it as is.

Pretty sure I won't make that mistake again.... #Newdrivermistakes -_-

Maybe once or twice more you will. But will stop right away next time.
I thought you were going to say you ripped a dock lock out of the building, that would have been more of a laugh!

    I have.

Even crawled under the trailer to see what was wrong with the trailer brakes.

When dropping that trailer you better get some extra support on the nose, you need to have them landing gear supports inspected before putting a heavy load on them.

Keep your windows open when you are hooking onto a trailer, pulling out of a dock or parking space, and backing up.

Your ears will alert you to a lot of problems.

I was leaving the Walmart dock after hooking up. Got half way across the lot and I noticed the trailer was pulling kind of hard. I went to investigate and found what was left of a chock block under the trailer tire. Looked behind the trailer and discovered a trail the chock block left. Got out quickly.

Aha yep that would have been a good laugh, not for me though ;)
Glad I'm not the only one that's made such a simple lapse in judgement.
I will start doing that from now on. No idea why I never thought of that.
