Credit scores are nothing but a gimmick.
I couldn't care less about a credit score.
Save your money and pay cash , period.
Having a big credit score just means you've spent a lot of money on interest.
Generally people give away 50 to 100k in intrest so they can have a big credit score.

What are you talking about? A credit score is a reflection of how you manage your money and pay your bills. It initially takes very little money to get your credit score raised. You will only have great credit if you pay your credit cards off every month and only use about 20% of your available credit.

Oh how naive you are. A credit score has no reflection on how well you handle your money at all. It's based completely on the weights of various criteria that they look at: 35% payment history, 30% amount owed, 15% length of history, 10% new credit, 10% types of credit used.

No where in there does it talk about how you handle money and how much money you have. It's all about how well you played kissy face with the lender.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to pay cash for everything they have. Regardless of the reason why, if you have to borrow money your credit score is what determines your approval and interest rate. Yes, it would be great to not care and carry around a briefcase full of cash when we go house shopping, but that’s not realistic for most of us.

This statement is completely contradictory. “How well you handle your money” sure sounds like a very general term that could be used to describe whether you pay your bills on time or not, how much credit you’ve been extended, etc.

Everyone has a different opinion on what it means to properly handle your finances. Some refuse to use credit and only pay cash. Some use a credit card for everything from vacation down to a gallon of milk and believe in living the high life on a low income. One thing is for sure though, your credit score is just a number based on criteria as you said. It doesn’t have any reflection on your income or who you are.

So paying bills on time and paying the entire balance each month is not managing your money? How naive you are. I hope you never need a loan. I know how credit works. It's not complicated. I simplified it for you. I rarely pay cash. Easier to charge. Not only do I have an electronic receipt, but if I have a problem with a purchase they will arbitrate. Are you stating you don't have one credit card?

When that bill comes due and you don't have enough funds to cover it. Forced or Forfeit. You decide.

Prime L/O's are not on forced dispatch. They are however responsible for a truck payment and yes depending on the situation you can definitely wind up in a worse situation by turning down a load but Prime does give L/O's the control over their business in that they can refuse loads.

I can refuse to make my house payments, but the mortgage company can refuse to let me live here for free. It's really not freedom when you have obligations. I also suspect if you turn down loads dispatchers won't call you with the good ones as often.
