My husband had one DUI when he was looking for a job. Arrow was our back up plan, they had given him a pre-hire and we had heard that they were forgiving on background issues. KLLM would only allow 1 past DUI.
We are in a pickle!

DeBoer transportation takes school grads, and they say no DUI in last 3 years.
I am sure if he keeps looking he will find one.
good luck. -
What a perfect example of the CDL schools and recruiters ON HOW THEY LIE. The only goal that most of these schools have is to have the student get their CDL. They could care less if the student knows how to safely drive or take care of a truck.
The problem here is not the fact that your husband has DUI's since most companies only ask for so many years back. The problem was he was caught in a lie. He'll have a very hard time finding work but it can be done. You can download "Trucking Companies" in your area and then hit the bricks. Be sure not to download trucking jobs because you'll get the same old bottom feeders. Get the list and weed through it and go out and talk to them. Tell them what happened and you might just get lucky.
You've got 2 strikes agains't you. You're looking for a job that many others are looking for too and this deal with being fired. So you've got to do your searching different than most. And that's going out to the smaller companies IN PERSON. You'd be surprised on how many companies run OTR and only have a few trucks. Granted, it's not the best time of the year to look but you never know. I do believe that you'd be wasting your time filling out applications on line because the company only sees paper and not the person. Good luck. -
Schools lie, recruiters lie. Don't be shocked when applicants are just trying to work within the system that exists. You can tell an employer that you pick your nose or once ran over a frog with your car, but why? OTOH if it's emblazened on your MVR there's not much point in hiding it either.

I have to put in my 2 cents about a very important thing you mentioned that the ''new breed'' totally fail to recognize and get thereselves in trouble..You mentioned the most importatnt thing''IN PERSON''...
I ask myself why would anyone want to get a job and make a comittment over a telephone with an 800 number..This is absurd to me IMO.
I do not care what they ''tell'' you and what they try to ''sell'' you.You must go ''IN PERSON'' to check things out and ''SEE FOR YOURSELF''..
It pisses me off to no end to see people fall for this ''MARKET SCAM'' over a telephone, only to come out empty handed...
Is life getting so desperate for new drivers that they ''committ'' to a phone interview?Without even never seeing 1st hand the company, the trucks, the yard, and most off all talking into another person's ''EYES'' man to man..?
I am sorry but this is a have to....I can't stress this enough..He said it
''IN PERSON''.What are ''new drivers'' thinking..Maybe there not..I don't no..
I would never accept, committ,or take on anything in my life
''OVER THE PHONE''..You must go there and see ''REALITY''..
It may cost a little bit of money, yes. But it will save you alot of money, headache and heartache..
Round trip flights are very cheap these days...Fuel is also cheap.Take a ride and meet the ''recruiter scamm'' man to man,eye to eye...That will tell you alot.
I went on a round trip flight to florida to check out a harley.I am not going to pay my hard earned money to someone over the phone and pictures in e-mail....sorry...
I went, the bike was trashed and i told him a few choice words, felt better, seen the ocean and came home..Total cost was $197.00
Could of been worse if i comitted to a ''phone call'' and a ''picture''..
I prey you learned your lesson.....
Know you can yell at me for being ''hard''

Don't be surprised if Werner didn't put it on your DAC already, I had US Xpress put on my DAC that I quit them. They had Dropped me because there was a court case that came up against me that was Dismissed even at that time. This was over a year ago. and it shows up on my DAC still I even had the Dismissal from the Judge, but they said I lied when I told them up front about it. I think that they needed to weed out a couple people from Orientation, and Me being the only Newbe at that time, I was selected. But Now I am GLAD that I never drove for a Driver mill Company! I get Much more miles per week than I ever would of with them, and I get home every week!

I hope Werner doesn't report on his DAC badly. They told him he wasn't being fired...he was simply considered 'never hired'. He did 3 days orientation, that's it. They didn't even have to furnish a bus ticket either way 'cause he had his chauffeur (me)
I totally agree with the whole 'in person' thing. Talking to a person on the phone means nothing.1pissedoffdriver Thanks this. -
It will all work out.Hang in there, better days ahead.
