How does it cost a thousand more a month?
If you like an aero truck fine, but making up reasons, or reciting some journalists uneducated blanket statements, that they cost more?

The difference if fuel mileage between my Columbia and my hood came out to be less than 3k for the entire year. And that's with no fuel saving measures on the hood. If i would get off my butt to do some work and open the checkbook i could get it to be almost as efficient as the columbia.

I like em both, prefer a short hood set back axle for maneuverability, and I think a long hood CAN ride a little better in the front end. Less likely to be Bucky. To each their own.

Agreed. The same could be said for day cabs as well. They all serve a purpose but the "individuality shouldn't be shown in a piece of equipment" nonsense is ridiculous. I'll be ###### if I'm ever caught in a plastic cookie cutter "truck" that rides like a VW Bug just to save few dollars. Equipment that stands out and gets noticed is good for business. Showing up at a shipper/receiver in a truck that stands out gets positive attention. It keeps you in their mind. Drop a business card or two with a design that shows your equipment goes hand in hand with brand recognition. I guess using the above mentality Coke and Pepsi should just remove their labels, fonts and anything else that makes them stand out from the other 20 bottles of soda on the shelf.

I don't see that many 379 Pete's for sale in Truck Paper. I bet they're reason for that

There are a lot less of them sold new vs aero trucks. I wouldn't read anything into the quantity for sale on truck paper.

Got to pay truck drivers!!. This low cost everything is causing the nation big. Rates per mile should be the same as a gallon of fuel

Why base your rates on miles at all? Hourly with daily minimums makes the most sense.

I'm a daily minimum driver. Its not easy at 70% on a reefer. I hustle the broker more to get my Daily minimum. Still trying figure out if renting reefer if I'm better off at 85% with extra cost or just stay at 70% either way I'm booking my own loads. But that extra 15% is tempting at times.
