Rates are starting to skyrocket already

If you are getting a good rate 15% seems like a no brainer to me.

 

I don't care what kind of trailer you pull. There is no way the difference between a hood and an aero truck is a thousand dollars a month unless you taint the study to give the results you want to see. But if you get everything identical(raised roof or fairings, low rolling resistant tires, same engine and driveline), thr difference for the hood alone will be about a half mph at 65 mph. Going faster it will become a larger gap cause aerodynamics have a much larger impact with speeds over 65.

 

Why wouldnt a new 389 get 8? My antique classic xl that has even worse aerodynamics gets 8 pulling a newer van. That's running 65ish. If i run 70+ it is a steep drop off.

 

I would almost guaranty my old trucks have less down time than newer trucks. If for no other reason than there are less things to cause problems.

 

I think that's true with any kind of new vehicle, 4 wheeler or a truck. Electronics have a shelf life and components made of plastic eventually fail from constant temperature variations and direct sunlight, or they fail prematurely from vibration.

I have a 22 year old Mercedes that I bought new and have kept running in perfect condition. Now electronic systems are beginning to fail one after another and it's almost time to junk her. My next personal vehicle is going to be a frame off restored 69-71 Chevy k-5 Blazer. Everything made from steel and very little plastic.
