Yes most of these home nightly jobs are long hours. There is a guy on youtube named trainer James , he got a home nightly job. Almost killed him , lasted almost a year working 16 hour days. Finaly gave up and went back to otr for the peace and quiet. I once did a home nightly dedicated food service job BUT i did it in a nice sleeper truck with otr style pay so i loved it , but the home nightly guys were hating it because they had NO life. They worked 12 to 16 hour days in day cabs. Then they had to get in there cars and drive back and fourth to and from home 6 days a week. And it was some weird hourly or sallery type pay where i was getting a bump up extra type pay because i was otr and most otr's did not want to do this type of work. I did drive for a construction company once and they were closest to a "normal" job - 6 am to 3 pm m-f.

Day cab local work is straight dog eat dog. Every man for himself. I did it for 4 years in DFW flatbed.
It ain’t no joke -
