Most cars record everything in the ECU. That data can be pulled, but usually it involves getting a court order in some jurisdictions.

She probably panicked and mashed the throttle to the floor, and I'm willing to bet that automatic transmission in her car down shifted as it began to #### & Git... Bet that car can go from 50 to 90 in about 3 to 4 seconds... Well it probably used to could.

Jeez, it was a Mazda not a super car! For example a C7 Corvette Z06 ( 650hp) takes approximately 4 seconds from 50-100

What the heck? You could go through that in one night at a hospital.

Not an Attack on @Trucking in Tennessee. Just more data and opinions.

those minimums were enacted in 1974.... California Has Not Increased Minimum Insurance Coverage In 40 Years And now are primarily viewed to fix guardrails and sign posts.

The insurance companies are more than happy to sell you "uninsured/under-insured" coverage to cover you if someone hits you. ("no fault" work around)

If folks have have no assets and are driving a wrecking yard special, Are you going to require them to pay for insurance to cover a new Super Duty or luxury Car?

Folks need to buy the insurance that they need.. cause there is no sane way to requires others to cover the financial situation of all others.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

Yes, if they can't afford to they can take the bus. Why should we be responsible for someone else who drives a #######, doesn't pay attention, and crashes into you and destroying your vehicle.

No fault, or minimum insurance states are horrible, only punishes the consumer who is responsible and carries adequate coverage.

You realize that if you are at fault and the limits are reached you can personally be sued for the difference?

Oldironfan, Blu_Ogre and Lepton1 Thank this.
