we are almost done with the training from our company and ready to get our first truck ever. thanks to everyone that answered my posts in the past.
i came up with a schedule for us to drive as a team as follow:
1. her schedule is from 6am to 6pm and mine is 6pm to 6am
2. she will run on the 8.75 (8 hours and 45 minutes) and then shut the truck down until I wake up for my shift. she will never have to do a 34 hours reset (i know it doesnt gain anymore time by doing that), will never have to deal with the traffic, and we would able to rest better when the truck is not moving
3. i will run as hard as i can for my 12 hours shift at night and do a 34 whenever it needs me to
would that be a good plan to execute ?
another newbie question

share evenly, you will do better well rested and if you worried about a female not being up for the task you are kidding yourself. There are many women out who can out work some men and can put us to shame. Treat her as a equal and that is what you will get.

The difference between running wild and having set lanes is huge.Omega7777 Thanks this. -
When they give a team a load. Often it’s coast to coast. Often they want it there yesterday.
As far as they’re concerned. You can take a 34 after their load is delivered.
2am and pm might work out better for all concerned.Omega7777 Thanks this. -
Ran team for an ltl company and we never went past Colorado and loads were scheduled at 50mph.
As far as what hours work best for any team will primarily be decided by who the night owl is or isn't.
Did it with a private fleet not ltl and it was warehouse to warehouse with some out side pick ups for products used for the manufacturing of the final product.
No set schedule just get it there safe and secure. -

It will all change when you put it into gear. The worries never drive when your up to it, if you drive 10 and 10 as a target let the details work themselves out

Also, 3 oclock on Fridays in any major city will leave you in traffic for a few hours.
Then dont forget snow.Omega7777 Thanks this. -
That's a pretty good schedule. She will still have to take a thirty minute break which pushes her time out. Also keep in mind she will be shutting down at a peak time in the truck stop. Finding a spot just for an hour and half might be tricky. When I ran team we did 3 to 3. That gave us each part of the day and night. As time goes on you can feel your way through it and make adjustments as needed. Have fun and be safe.
