    Hello fellas
I got the green light with Landstar. I am going to look at trucks this weekend.I got my forms and wondering what for eld:s you all are using pros and cons. I will have many questions as I am leaving company driver. I will appreciate any help or thoughts. I was a driver early on then turned wrenches on trucks for 25 yrs, then back to driving 8 years ago. I have been following these treads for a pretty good while. Thanks

Thanks , sorry for not getting back sooner. I got the truck locked in , so I am calling Landstar Monday to set up my orientation. I am still looking for the pros and cons on the 2 eld"s. Any help sure would be appreciated. I am steering towards the keep trucking. Thanks Steve

I don’t trust cell phones enough to do the keep trucking ELD, at least without a dedicated mobile device that only does logging. Good luck. Pro tip, the agencies that spam the board all day with hundreds of loads, don’t typically have any and are just reposting loads from public load boards. Don’t waste your time.

I am using OmniTracs IVG. It is mounted in truck, so don't have to worry bout it. I would not use the other choice. Just think about it. Do you really want to hand your smart phone to a DOT officer? They will be looking at more than your logs.

I use one of my wife's old cell phones. It doesn't have service, and i only use it for logging. Works great.

I hot spot my personal phone to it a couple times a day to let it update.

    jsnell Thanks this.

I am going to dedicate a little lg tablet to it with nothing of value on it. I was going to put service back on it but the hot spotting sounds better. Does landstar require a stationary mount for it. I sure wont miss peoplenet, we had to back it up on paper alot.
