I never once suggested how anyone chooses to run their route. I will however look down at anyone who expects others to do their work for them. I paid my dues and don't take kindly to others who won't. I also never suggested this was the case with OP. If I were to do that, I would call him out by name. Practice what you preach and stop reading between imaginary lines here.

I think he was referring to another post here who harps down the newer techniques used in todays world instead of the old fashioned way which don't work much anymore these days. As much as the claim is that the old fashioned way still works today as bragged by a few members.

The reality is. It don't. Once in awhile you get lucky. For the most part, you don't.

Agreed. It's much easier with the technology available to us today. I would have killed for a GPS enabled 5.5" screen mobile phone with worldwide maps, live traffic data and actual street view in 1998. In all actuality though, there never has been and never will be a one size fits all "tool" for what we do. There are 101 different unique variables to each run. Nothing can handle all of them all the time. The keys are common sense, dedication and the will to succeed.

What road atlas are you looking into?
Any Rand McNally commercial drivers atlas has all of that info.

One other tip from those of us who cut our teeth in the days before computers and internet, call the receiver and insist that you speak to someone in shipping/receiving and let them know what your driving.
The lady in customer service will definitely tell you the way in she goes in her Mimi cooper. :)
