it'll be fine, these things will take a #### ton of abuse and keep on running.
austinmike and Cam Roberts Thank this. -
To clarify l did mean the 13 speed manual.
I guess this is why everyone I ask in person about it looks at me like a confused dog. (Head tilts to the side.) Surprise I haven't been corrected or questioned sooner.
Anyways
The day was going great too.
Should I chalk this up to a bruised ego then?
Thanks for the replies.
Sorry if I didn't respond to everyone. Still learning the forum and all that good stuff.Attached Files:

Since we've cone to the conclusion, that everything ok as of now.
What are some things that could of happened?
Now I'm curious! -
It is not possible to screw up these transmissions on the account of a few errors. They can take a hell of a lot of abuse from a dimwit driver day in and day out. You thinking you messed up the trans on the account of one shift error is over thinking big time!!. I shift an 18 speed all day long for 12 hours a day and sometimes 14. I don’t see the highway at all. I’m local so I’m constantly shifting. I get fatigued by the end of the day. By the end of the day I get lazy and sometimes I screw up a few split shifts becuase my mind is fatigued. The truck is mine and I’m very cautious and mindful how I drive it. It would take a long time to do damage in what you did. It would take months of someone doing what you did to cause harm. Like I said, if you didn’t split right and you hear that grinding sound, leave the splitter where it’s at, pop the truck into neutral and find the right gear you supposed to be in. If you are a good driver, this takes less than 2 seconds but feels like a mili second. No harm done and no damage done
x1Heavy and Roaddreamer Thank this. -
i drive with an eaton 18 everyday. i preselect sometimes before im ready to make a shift, but know i will make the shift soon and never though anything about it. i never heard any grinding noises, i guess i will wait to preselect right before im ready to shift. i actually can usually shift it like a dream, without any grinding noises.
i still use a clutch, i never really mastered the art of floating..... if i try to float i grind so i use the clutch but only a light touch on the clutch. the truck i am driving is an old, worn out 2006 peterbilt 386 with 704K on it.... C15 acert. its not a bad truck but the engine is tired and has a fair amount of blowby. milk loads are heavy and not very easy on a truck.Roaddreamer Thanks this.
