Big Orange tanker division is ok; you'll make good money there and get good training.

Thanks, @Chinatown. I'm looking forward to getting started next month. Hoping it all goes well. Also hoping for an automatic transmission. The last time I drove a ten speed was in school back in 2015.

Schneider is a good place to work. Just remember to say something if you are not getting the miles. They can't fix what they don't know is broke. Schneider has a van dispatch system that I feel is not adequate for tanking but you can work with it. Just speak up.

They do have good training and good equipment. Plus, they are use to rookie drivers. All in all, if your attitude is right you will be just fine. Again, Schneider was a great place to work.

Thanks! I'll bring my positive attitude, can-do a-game. I know that DBLs will do more for their friendlier and hard working drivers.

I also tried Trimac, theyre pretty strict on having 1 year of experience in TX. I spoke with a recruiter at Superior Carriers, I only have 6 month of experience. Thanks to several posts/reviews regarding those companies. I will also try Schneider if I dont end up with Superior

Tidewater Transit is big in Texas.
    svtn - www.svtn.com
Western Dairy Transport - milk hauler
Schneider Bulk is probably just as good as any of them.

@Chinatown I'm in Austin, when I contacted Superior, they told me they had a satellite terminal in San Antonio. Hopefully I'm hired with them since a lot of user has cosign them. I'll look into those other choices. Thanks

I'm also interested in Tanking. I don't have Hazmat yet, but I passed the test for Tanker endorsement. I wonder if it would be a good idea to start with Food Grade. I'm also curious how much of this is loaded or unloaded by the driver.

For now, checking out companies with southern locations with an interest in relocating and also watching YouTube to learn about liquid vs. bulk equipment.

Hazmat is not hard to get. Test is a lot of common sense answers but studying the practice tests here on TTR you will get there. Chemical will likely get you more money and the work is steady.

One would think so, but I tried the test and common sense didn't always apply in the Wisconsin version. I did review the TTR practice tests for it and the Wisconsin DMV booklet.

Seriously, as I recall a question about the vehicle being disabled or unable to be moved. I selected and answer relating to getting help, but that was wrong. The correct answer was to keep people from smoking nearby. That got me because I do not assume all Hazmat means Flammable.

Oh well, the holiday is over so I might try again Monday.
