It's a company policy. Ask the company. Our opinion doesn't change company policy.

Your post for some reason just rang a bell with me, of something I had forgot about. I was about a year from retiring. I was at the WSE home terminal in Elm Springs Arkansas talking to my FM. If I heard it right a driver that lived in Jackson Mississippi was out of hours and was stuck at the Spaceway Truck stop in Meridian Mississippi. Tried to get routed home but was told to just stay there and get a 34. This pissed the driver off so bad that he logged a 15 minute inspection 3 times a day. We were still on paper then. Come that Monday his reset was toast and he only had got a little of his recap hours back. I was standing next to that guys FM when he sent him the QC message he was still out of hours. He was directed to redo his logs but refused. After several days went by this driver called someone to come pick him up. WSE sent a driver with another driver headed west out of Atlanta. This was a new driver if I remember the story right and they just assigned him the truck.

You can run more hours if you use a 34 every week.
