I’m pretty sure I beat this guy in a rap battle and he still owes me $200.

Many moons ago, a company pulled something similar. Researched the Virginia codes and laws. I swore out a felony warrant for theft of services funny how fast money was in my hands after that. This was back in 2000 when i had left the military for a period and foolishly bought a truck.

A guy I work with on the am runs found the steps over the fuel tank on his new Pete 579 bent to hell. The guy who did it started last monday on the pm shift & didn't even report it. My co-worker would like to treat him like a duck.

You should have read my advice on here somewhere before hand. You need to tell any company you want paid the next week-no 2 week withholding, and they pay your way there before you even leave home. Just one look at the owner tells me he is not professional.Remember-a company needs you-you don't need them. My advice is; if your planning on staying in trucking a long time, buy a truck for cash and lease-on with a reputable company-otherwise your going to be flooded with paperwork and brokers who take up to 3 months to pay on loads and some that never do You can find good factors like Loves etc where you will be paid accordingly if you go independent. This I believe is your best route then you can call the shots as far was where you go hometime, type of freight etc. I have been OTR 34 years and can tell you the industry is full of cheats and crooks so think things through thorougly before manking a more.

I was waiting for a post like this; as usual, it didn't take long.
Why this mindset of always blaming the driver?
As if all (all!) responsibility always goes to the victim.
People like you are doing nothing but supporting bad behavior by bullies and theives.

I’m from Eastern Europe and would never work for my people. I did when I came to USA over 20 years ago for 3 days and I said never again. As soon as here word 1099 that’s it you don’t have to tell me anything else

What I don't get is this...the op is just going to walk away without his paycheck. That's why they do this. Eventually you'll give up, an they get to keep it.

I'd highly recommend you contact the state labor board. If you just give up an walk away, your just enabling them to do it to the next driver. Go to your state labor board. An get the money your owed. If they owe you money, THEY HAVE TO pay you.

Do not let them off the hook. This is the problem today, to many people just sit back an let people walk all over them. State Labor Boards exist for a reason. As do small claims court an lawyers.

Don't just lie down an be a pushover. Fight back.

Every single job I've had my companies had payroll separate from the rest. If your a company an your waiting to pay your employees till you get paid by whoever...in my eyes, your not a reputable company. If it was upfront an the OP/Driver was told that's one thing. Doesn't sound like that to me. Clearly this company has a bad rep. I'd like to know when your pay day is supposed to be....weekly, biweekly or monthly.

Either way to the OP...again, don't just sit there an let them screw you.

You can fight, or you can just sit back an enjoy the buggering your going to get. An no, I doubt they'll give you the courtesy of a reach around.

Good luck, I hope you fight it.

If they need you so bad, why did you seek them out and submit an application?
