JD, you are right about paperwork. What most people don't realize is that a lot of customers will not pay their freight bills without the proper documentation. So the company has to get that BOL or whatever paperwork the customer demands.
Regarding GPS, you're correct, there are customers out there right now who will not use a carrier without GPS. They want to be able to track their product. As you know any carrier who has any kind trk/trl ratio and can drop trailers is a rolling warehouse now.

You're welcome . I have been proven wrong at times . It's hard to keep up with all the changes but I try to have solid data to back up what I say . If I give an opinion I'll say it's an opinion .

Last time I checked the Calender it was 2009. How about debating the present.

"Good experienced drivers would never consider Crete" - I'm almost offended by such a bold statement.

I am a Good driver, over 1Million accident/indecent free miles. I have never received so much as a parking ticket while driving a truck. I am an Experienced driver, have been at it since 1997. I did consider and do drive for Crete. So perhaps you should reconsider making such invalid statements. They make you look a little silly.

    I don't see any insults
What I do see is a thread that will be closed if bickering continues
Times are hard, please stay polite or just move on to another thread
    Thank you

I reconsidered my post and edited it shortly thereafter, apparently while you were posting this. But to answer your question. The insult was saying that no Good, Experienced drivers would consider Crete. I do not agree with such a statement and was only voicing my opinion to that effect.

And YES, I will happily move on to another thread. It would appear that this one is about to self destruct :)

O.K. some drivers would consider it . But even though they were forced to comply it's still the same management that was guilty of the violations that resulted in fatalities . I have no doubt they wouldn't be operating the same way today if they hadn't agreed to remedial action with the FMCSA . But you make a point that confirms what I've said many times . Drivers can be pressured to violate HOS but they can't be forced . Carriers should be held responsible when they knowingly allowed continued violations but the ultimate responsibility falls on the driver .

I think if we all look at the stats on any and all of the big carriers, we will see that many or more. Not anything to brag about no, but in the case of Crete they are taking a bad situation, no, it was a terrible situation and making changes to ensure that it never happens again. To me, that's working in the right direction. Let's hope everyone learned from that.
