I wish more drivers would follow his example and not attempt to drive in horrible conditions. I have seen so many overturned tractor trailers all over the road when what they should have done is shut it down! It's not worth your life or anyone else's to drive in really bad weather.
-
The company I just left considers weather delays the fault of the driver. It is marked against them and they are penalized.
-
My company tells all of it's drivers, if there is bad weather, do the right thing, and shut down if you have to.
Appoinments can be rescheduled, we want you safe and one peice. Frieght can be replaced, a human life cannot.
Weather is natural thing, that we have as humans , have no control over.Wiseguywireless, Double L, billsgirl and 1 other person Thank this. -
And when the worst happens, those companies deny everything and blame the driver.Double L and old-six-pack Thank this.

I drove in that mess from lees summit to joplin, then to springfiled and back to Lees summit all in missouri.

AND?????

I talked to my brother this afternoon and he left Joplin on his way to Tulsa. He said the main roads were mostly clear. The snow is one thing but ice is another thing all together. I would shut down and wait. My life is worth more than the freight. Sorry to hear you worked for a company that sees it that way Roadmedic.
-
It was very clear that the freight was more important than the driver. Especially since they are always getting calls for jobs. I have not lost anything. -
Yep I hear ya there... Dang-it that's what makes for unsafe drivers. Glad to hear you got a better ride. I'd say the only thing you lost are some worries.
