My point is that companies will push you around as far as you let them. Stand up to them and you'd be surprised how quickly some back down. This sleep apnea thing is being pushed because it is a way to shift the liability on to drivers for being tired. Its not enough to say, "Yes, we run our guys upward of 90 hours a week and that's why they are tired" Then the liability would be on them, instead they will misdiagnose people and when they wreck blame them for being tired since they didn't used the Darth Vader mask. It is pretty shady and something I would never allow to happen to me. If this is the sort of stuff you are willing to put up with to keep your marvelous job that's on you, but don't come whining to us about it.

We surely need a second revolution.
The Patriot Thanks this. -
Concetra making money, you have to use CPAT for 7 days and you get a two week card; 2 weeks a 30 day card; 30 days a 60 day card and 60 a 1 or 2 year card. All this time the truck is down, you not making money and the company is losing money.

It makes no sense to pay for own study.
The company can and may have different standards for a pass then the privately obtained study. Same thing with DOT physical. Your doc may give you a 2 yr and their doc says 1yr. -
Im glad i just read this. I was getting ready to head up to nearest concentra and pay for own physical. But since they're in that scam ring too, screw them!Naptown Thanks this.

I too use a cpap, and it has made a difference for me. However, the technology in the brand new machines is bordering on an invasion of my/your privacy. I just got one of those new machines several months ago and did my latest physical about a month ago. I called the medical supply place I got mine from and told them I needed a compliance report, "When can I bring it in to download the report?" "You don't need to, we can do it wirelessly (here's where my irritation starts). I called in the morning and she told me to come by after lunch and she would have it. Not only was she able to do that, my machine was unplugged and packed neatly in it's travel bag when she did it. No power at all to it. If they can do that, how else can they use and manipulate the data against me/you?
ASHLEYDRIVER2013, Lonesome, scottied67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I use only Hometown urgent care....ASHLEYDRIVER2013 and RookieJ1987 Thank this.

Yeah, Averitt pays for it. Got retested by another sleep clinic (not Averitt's this time) and new clinic says no way I have it. Averrit's doctor so far refuses to honor new findings. Wished I'd never applied for this company!Lonesome, 06driver and ASHLEYDRIVER2013 Thank this.
