We're Here!! My husband quit Transam in October because they ripped him off totally. And are still trying. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GO WITH TRANSAM LEASE!! He drove over 3500 miles a week for more than 2 month with NO pay whatsoever. They will steal every penny you make. They also left him stuck in Denver, Co. because they made him drive over his 70 hours and then cut off his card so he couldnt get gas to get back to where he needed. They will force dispatch you 3 states over or more and give you less than 6 hours to deliver. They will also fine you if you are late with that delivery and it doesnt matter if you have your hours already or not. And if you speed to get there in time they will fine you for that. And keeping your log book-throw it away as far as they are conserned. It doesnt matter if your keeping legal for dot or not. They work your books wether you want them to or not to say whatever they want. And now they are trying to say he made more than 24,000 in less than 2 months on the road when he didnt get a penny and have not sent him his balance sheets for when he was there. You will never get any paperwork from them whatsoever no matter how often you ask for it. So please take our advice, from ones who've just been there--don't do it!

I just finished school in GA. A student that graduated in Nov. 08 went with TransAm right out of school and went with the lease/purshase program. He stopped at school a couple weeks ago with his truck. A beautiful 08 KW T660. He told us he's running approx. 3500-3800 miles per week. After his truck payment he is still banking $2000.00 a week. Now if you think he is pulling the WOOL over our eyes PLEASE SPEAK UP. He has only been back to Winder GA. 3 times since he started in Nov. However being only 23 and having BABY GIRL with him he runs his ### OFF and does not care about seeing home. He seems very happy with TransAm and the miles and the money. We've spoke 3 times since Nov.08 and the story is always the same. GREAT!!!!!
I asked him about the guy's not getting the miles and getting screwed and his answer was they are Whiners and don't want to WORK. They want to sit at home for 2-3 days a week. So all that said I'm not sure what the REAL TRUTH is? Just going by what I've heard from 1 HAPPY CAMPER. My cousin has a girlfriend that hired on with them as a company driver and see is VERY HAPPY with them and the way she's been TREATED so far.
I'm still up in the air weather to start out as a compay driver and see if I'm going to like this NEW adventure of my LIFE before I Jump in totally and SINK. Any advice or info would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Is he driving for someone else now? Glad to see you're back. I was following the trail when he first started with them, and then it stopped. Sorry you had such a crappy deal.

Bill drove as a company driver for them for about 6 months. In that time , he had 3 paychecks over 700.00. The rest were all over the place. There were weeks when his check was 150.00. I would guess he averaged about 350.00. Not great. We have comments on a lot of the TA threads. We would strongly advise NOT to lease. Try it for 6 months as a company driver, see what you think because God knows they would love to sign you up for a lease at any time. Also, we got an 08 T660 after 3 months because someone couldn't make it work on the lease. That truck was BEAUTIFUL, and I feel blessed we had the opportunity to be in such a truck. But we gave it back because the money wasn't there, at least not at the time we were there. TransAm was not a horrible place to work as a company driver, but there are lease threads here that actually break down all the payments and deductions you get taken out BEFORE you get a paycheck. You should take a good look at them too. Best of luck to you!!!

I dont doubt the company drivers are treated better. Theres alot that they make owner operators do that they do not make company drivers do. As far as making $2000 a week after truck payment, We wished!!!! But that didnt happen. He was only home 2 days out of 3 months running the rest of the time, so being a whiner I think not!!! He ran more than 3700 miles a week, and was fined for every mile over 3000 a week--read your lease! Its in there! His last balance sheet for October he made the amount of $6,874.01. That WAS the income before anything taken out. What was taken out as fuel, surcharges, fines for over 3,000 miles a week, miscellaneous insurance charges, lease truck payments, lease payment miles, bobtail fees, generator fees, highway tax use, prepass fees, satellite charges, truck insurance fees, preventative maintance fees, maintance escrow fees, performance fees, and much more came to a total of $6,874.01 down to the last cent. Nickel and dimed him to death. Meaning, no paycheck for October. It was almost the same way for the rest of the months he worked. And every pay was to be direct deposited so i had proof of income. The total time he was with them he received one check of $800.00, 2 # $300.00 and 1 # 75.00. I have the papers right here in front of me to prove them. So the truth? Depends on who you want to beleive. I know this next job will NOT be a lease, but company driver. Learned the hard way. But good luck which ever way you go.

Going to start at TransAM the 18th and I'm going to listen to the advice givin here and just be a company driver. I was treated very well by the recruiter. I've heard good and bad about them but us newbies have to start somewhere. Just going to be very CAREFULL about the lease/purchase program. I think in any job your going to have good and bad anywhere you work. Just try and make the BEST of it till something else BETTER comes your way. I'm just going to stay positive till they prove different. Sorry to the ones here that have been TAKEN. Thanks for the HEADS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know alot about TransAm, but alot of drivers on the board here do and PLEASE take their advise. Read everything you can about the co. and then make your decision. As for Hurricane Express. They have great trucks with long legs and excellant trailers but you had better be ready to run to make the payments on the truck. The bigger and newer the truck the higher the payment. GL and be safe...
