census-takers fan out in cities across the country this week in an attempt to count homeless populations
Hopefully we will surpass this situation and learn from it, but it does not look good....this post is just my opinion.

It's starting to feel like a depression. I haven't worked in a week and a half and don't know when I will be working again. I call in and hear the same thing, "call back tomorrow, there is no work." We haven't hit rock bottom yet in this economy and Obama doesn't have a clue on how to fix it. I don't know if anybody has a clue on how to fix it. I know I don't.

Instead of doing bailouts, maybe the government should give each taxpayer in America $7000 to $10000 to pay personal debts and -buy- things to move the economy....otherwise we are just creating a bigger mess for the future generations in this country.
A possible collapse is also a solution to start over, but that is one scary thought, IMO.

i agree with this....but why stop at this amount? The population in the U.S. is roughly 305 million.....why not just give an "economic stimulus" package to every person that has paid taxes for the last 5-10 years in the amount of $1 million with the stipulation that you must pay off your mortgage and credit cards and car loans. The rest can be used to invest as you see fit.

That is a great thought, I wish it would happen, but truly I also believe that the government and the rich are trying to do away with the -middle class- soon there will be only the poor, and the rich.
The haves, and the have nots, and when the have nots have had enough of this...watch out!

$1 million isn't reasonable. $50 grand would do alot for the economy. Think about it. People could get out of debt, buy cars, buy clothes, go on vacations, invest in the markets for their retirement. These things would stimulate the economy way more than just bailing out the market or the banks. Let the people use the stimulus as we see fit. This would create jobs and make Obama a hall of fame president.

    CANNIBAL-MAN Thanks this.

Not reasonable???I guess $850 BILLION of our tax dollars is? And this is not going to help...$1 million to each tax payer IMO is very reasonable......and would help....

Good thinking - except for one thing, and it's not the 'BIG BUCKS' - clearly how much money they can throw around is not the issue. The real issue is that the AMERICAN FAMILY CONSUMER is not guilty. That's the 'spin' just so the people stay cowed and quiet, because 'Gee, after all, I guess it's all my fault'.

    NOT!

The economic collapse comes from WAY WAY HIGHER UP. Someone in the news yesterday called it "CASINO CAPITALISM". In other words, the huckster-termites started gnawing away inside our legitimate economy with things like DERIVATIVES and CURRENCY SPECULATION and SHORT SELLING GIMICS. We're talking TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of dollars here - internationally.

Mr. and Mrs. America and their children are losing their futures because they have been picked to 'sacrifice' and take the fall. Obama is in on it, too. Another high-priced double-talking lawyer. McCain and the Republicans are making like they 'disagree'. Baloney. They're all in it together. They are all equally corrupt. Madoff is just one of a crowd. Our only hope is to get the real truth told in our communities, and above all - let the police know what is happening. If there is civil unrest, just like there is in Europe already in various places, Obama & Bush before him have the laws in place TO BRING IN THE ARMY... EVEN FOREIGN TROOPS. I'm not lying, and I'm not crazy.
