Well if some of you have read my previous posts, you know what I am dealing with right now. I believe I have called almost every trucking company in the country and nobody will hire me!
I guess I just have too many strikes against me, NO experience, I live in Florida, and I was arrested but NOT convicted for child support 3 years ago!
Its a shame too cause I'm smart, hard working, trustworthy, and I know I would have been a good trucker! But in the end I guess I just wasted $6,000.00 for a CDL I cant use!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
I am about to give up!

I have been, every local job wants OTR experience, If anybody out there knows of ANYBODY hiring recent grads out of Florida please let me know!
I really dont see why they wont hire me out of Florida, I dont care if I ever get home, I will live in a truck for a year!.......lol -
Midwest Coast Transport. They have a yard in Sanford,FL and they hire students. Do an internet search and you will find them. If they hire you and you need a fleet owner to work for, let me know. I don't have any trucks open but may be able to point you in the right direction.luvtheroad Thanks this.

Already have, none of the COMCAR companies are hiring students right now. -
There are some other things you can do with the CDL, like large straight trucks, dumps, etc. Not quite the earning potential but something you may enjoy until the economy picks up and they start recruiting straight from the prison release records again lol. When they need you, they'll find you.

Hey now! I was never convicted of anything! I missed a CHILD SUPPORT hearing that I knew nothing about!
At this point I would love to drive a dump truck or a straight truck! -
Maybe you could try some foodservice companies or places like that, most people don't like doing it becuase it's a lot of hand bombing and you usually have to work at night but there isn't as much competition for jobs either. I did it for 2 years it's not that bad and you'll get plenty of driving experience trust me.
Wiseguywireless and luvtheroad Thank this. -
Did you talk directly to MCT in Sioux Falls,SD or just to Comcar? I know that is B.S. because I have trucks leased there. If I had an empty truck and wanted to hire a driver, I could hire anyone I wanted(including students) so long as they qualify. I know there are fleet owners here with empty trucks so either, you didn't talk to them or you talked to the wrong person.
